Brooklyn CWA Cablevision members speak to their Non-union Coworkers regarding Altice
Published on Sep 28, 2015
When Altice buys Cablevision, only the Brooklyn Cablevision techs who are members of CWA will have any seat at the table to protect jobs. Listen to your Brooklyn coworkers speak about how they will have a voice during the sale. Most analysts say that Altice will reduce wages, contract out and layoff.
Some call it a "bloodbath." This is the time to protect your jobs.

Sad but it's the damn truth & this is just our history. This mentality is financed by wall street & corporate America who are not for the fair treatment & well being for ALL people. Their has been so many passionate bloggers on here WARNING people to protect themselves, their jobs, their families and future. All you hear is SILENCE seems people would rather go down because they don't want others to have nothing instead of protecting themselves. NEWS FLASH PEOPLE, YOU WILL GO DOWN WITH MINORITIES. I can't comprehend that thought pattern because this is NOT THE TIME FOR THAT BULLSHIT THINKING. BLOGGERS ARE POSTING HELP YOURSELVES & DON'T SIT AROUND TO GET FUCKED IN THE ASS. People everytime you keep this way of thinking you are making sure the rich gets richer and what do you get? A one way ticket to the unemployment line all for the cause of THE RIGHT WINGS WHO DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT YOUR BROKE ASS NO MATTER WHAT YOUR RACE IS.....WAKE UP AND TAKE A STAND FOR YOUR FUTURE AND NOT THE RICH INTEREST. XPO says it is considering sale of Con-way truckload unit
03:48 PM ET • XPO
XPO Logistics (XPO +3.4%) has received offers for the truckload division of Con-way (CNW +0.1%), the trucking operator it is acquiring in a $3B deal, but the company has not decided whether to sell, CEO Bradley Jacobs says.
A sale would carve out an operation with $632M in annual revenue, ~11% of CNW's overall revenue - a relatively small portion of the overall business, which is centered around handling loads for multiple customers on its trucks.
Jacobs says XPO already is looking at changes in Con-Way Freight's less-than-truckload service as the company prepares to close on the deal this quarter.
Yes they did in 2008 they cut wages, pension, benefits,401,took a years vacation, and changed the way vacation was earned.so basically they took 2weeks away from everyone. We never recoverd from that. But all the suck asses loved it. Management cares about the welfare of the lower workers...What a fucking joke people are at Conway .
Looks like the "Yard Sale" is about to start. XPO is considering selling Conway Truckload. Check CDLLife.com I wonder if Freight division is next?

The NLRB is full of shit!!! 3 cases were filed against conway xme 1 for the union buster telling workers the union sent union cards to conway and the union pulled the charge because the NLRB was going to side with conway. 2 a pro union full time dock worker was fired for driving his forklift without the seatbelt, while a anti union full time dock worker and a FOS did the same and no punishment was given but the NLRB sided with conway. 3 a pro union full time dock worker was fired for stealing time, two anti union full time dock workers were caught by the FOS and SCM TWICE for stealing time and no suspension was given and they kept their jobs, and the full time dock worker in case #2 was caught stealing time he was given a write up and the NLRB ruled in conways favor. The NLRB is a bunch of college guys that never driven a truck worked a dock or driven a forklift deciding the working mans fate. Seems like the three cases that the NLRB sided with conway at xme showed everyone at the barn the union or the NLRB couldn't protect us guys against conway.

Wake up people we are already loosing customers.when a company starts to loose customers in this business it's over and xpo new that would happenwhen he bought con ur way.in this business you don't have the time to say we will rebuild it, no and the low life that bought the company new this would happen so you see my friends the only value Conway has is its assets he will sell that, and walk away with a nice profit. Vulture capitalism.remember that guy that ran for president mitt Romney this is how he made millions he also is the the guy that said corporations are people my friends.he would buy companies sell there assets and leave the workers on the unemployment line, this is what this low life is going to do to us
USB are sitting ducks here comes the trash man XPO turn this company into all work no pay like the rest of the companies in his corporation their profitable for him but at cut rate for the employees
Remember what happened to Matheson drivers after DHE acquired Matheson fast freight wages were dropped to $14/hour.
DHE-Dependable Highway Express aquires Matheson Fast Freight
By: AJOT | Feb 11 2010 at 07:00 PM | Intermodal
DHE-Dependable Highway Express, based in Los Angeles, has acquired Matheson Fast Freight. In business since 1973, Matheson Fast Freight provides less than truckload service primarily to California and Nevada.’ Matheson operates a fleet of 172 tractors and 425 trailers with an experienced work force of 392.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
In making the announcement of the acquisition, Ron Massman, Chief Executive Officer of The Dependable Companies, commented, “the purchase of Matheson Fast Freight is an important step forward in our company’s planned program of growth.’ Matheson is one of the most respected names in trucking in the West.’ With more than 35 years of experience, Matheson has carved out an enviable reputation for reliable, on-time service among shippers of every size and type of commodity.”
Massman noted that the trucking industry is beginning to shake off the effects of the worst recession in 75 years.’ “Latest figures indicate that trucking volume is up about 20 per cent from its low toward the end of last year.’ DHE expects to capitalize on this renewed growth.’ Along with the Matheson acquisition, we expect to take full advantage of a stronger U.S. economy.”
The DHE executive pointed out that Matheson has a number of full service terminals throughout California, the single most important trucking market in the U.S.’ Its facilities range from Chico in the North to San Diego in the South.’ In Nevada, Matheson operates facilities in Las Vegas and Sparks. Massman said, “where two company terminals operate in the same city, the Matheson facility will be folded into Dependable Highway Express.’ Where DHE has no facilities, the Matheson terminal will become part of the DHE network.”
Massman also commented on the IT situation.’ Acknowledging that merging different IT systems presents a difficult problem for senior management in any industry, the DHE CEO stated that “both IT departments have been working closely together to ensure a smooth transition of the Matheson system into the current DHE computer operation.’ We expect a strengthening of our IT operation with higher service levels for our customers.”
DHE-Dependable Highway Express has a long history in transportation.’ Started in 1950 with one truck in Los Angeles, the company now operates six divisions around the world under The Dependable Companies umbrella. The Dependable Companies has some 36 domestic and international offices ranging as far afield as Latin America, Australia and the Pacific Rim.’ It has grown both through internal expansion and acquisitions.’ Originally, an LTL carrierwith services only in Southern California, DHE now provides LTL service throughout California, Arizona and Nevada, harbor drayage from northern and southern California ports and truckload service throughout the eleven Western states. DDC-Dependable Distribution Centers operates five public warehouses in California with over two million square feet in space.’ The company’s bokerage service, DLS-Dependable Logistics Services covers all areas not handled through the company’s asset based operations. Through its DHX-Dependable Hawaiian Express division, it is one of the largest freight forwarders to Hawaii and Guam.’ Other divisions include DGX-Dependable Global Express, an international ocean freight forwarding’company and DAX-Dependable AirCargo Express serving air shippers both domestically and internationally
XPO LOGISTICS GIVES GUARANTEE'S at Norbert Dentressangle because they are all union! Wake the fuck up people!!!!
29 April 2015
Britain’s largest union, Unite today (Wednesday 29 April) called for assurances over jobs following news of a £2.3 billion takeover of haulage giant Norbert Dentressangle by the US firm XPO Logistics.
The union, which represents nearly 3,000 workers in the UK, is seeking an urgent meeting with the company’s new management team to press for similar guarantees given to Norbert Dentressangle’s French workforce by XPO Logistics.
Unite members at Norbert Dentressangle work across a number of contracts from delivering petrol and diesel to the nation’s forecourts to logistics for supermarkets such as Co-op.
Commenting Unite national officer, Matt Draper said: “We’re seeking an urgent meeting with the new company to get assurances on jobs and more detail of what the future holds.
“Our members have been central to the success of Norbert Dentressangle and need the security and piece of mind of similar job guarantees given to their French counterparts.
“Unite hopes that it can have a constructive and positive relationship with the new owners to ensure that the new company goes from strength to strength.”
What we can do against the NLRB to make them more efficient in favor to us
Don't know conway has big money to fight nlrb cases. And the three cases the union lost at xme really hurt moral with guys. And now with xpo taking over I'm sure things won't change ether.
Simple go union and xpo will sell us off to ups or a better company they don't want a union company and we don't want xpo
Never mind people I found out where Joe Degnese is...Not to worry everything is Ok...maybe Doug and Joe should have voted for the union.
XPO Logistics Inc. has engaged the prominent placement firm of Spencer Stuart to recruit two executives to run Con-way Freight, the less-than-truckload (LTL) unit of Con-way Inc., when XPO's $3 billion acquisition of the parent company closes, according to two people familiar with the matter.
Greenwich, Conn.-based XPO is looking for a CEO for the $3.6-billion unit, the largest in the $5.8-billion Con-way organization, as well as an executive to function as a chief operating officer, according to these people. The recruiting firm has been showing XPO "some great talent," one of these people said.
It is expected that Joseph M. Dagnese, who currently runs the LTL unit, will step down soon after the deal closes, by the end of October. Dagnese took the job in mid-June after running Con-way Truckload, the company's truckload operation.
They just announce Xcg close for sure Chicagoland Xcg,Xbv,xau,Xbv,xme could transfer to any of this terminal with their seniority beside Xcg because they closing they want all this to be done before new bid start
Conway o xpo simple vote union
Wow that frog face Lupe still milking the goat wow hope you allready fixed that big ass hernia you have poping out that big belly you have lupe the only way I forget about you lupe is when I flush the tolit
Look people we drivers have power, because the skill we possess.Ask these questions, can a driver do basic plumbing?can a driver do computer work?can a driver do do what a tm does,at any terminal at Conway.can a driver do the job of the office people at Conway terminals?I think the answer is yes,to all those things, but now can any of those people that do those jobs do what we do?which is back trailers in difficult docks drive a double or triple trailers?the answer would be no they can't, we possess a special skill and we truck drivers have to start having employers pay us for those special skills. We've been brainwashed to believe we are just dumb truck drivers we are not we are high skilled perfesshionals and we should be respected and payed accordingly. There are pilots in the sky we are the pilots on the ground.we need to let these low life so called rich educated in fucking the working man whose in controll we can close down Wall Street! If we decide to stop tricking for one day we can affect the world market think of the power we possess
I'm a former conway employee. Myself and a few few other guys at my barn started the union drive. I got cards signed, I went to union meetings, spoke out against management, anti union coworkers and the union busters. I signed a notice of organizing a union and had it sent to my SCM. I fought the good fight for the union. But I was fired from conway on trumped up chargers. The union I supported filed a nrlb case with a shit load of evidence to support me in getting my job back but the nlrb sided with conway. The union I supported did have me work with them for a few months while waiting to see what happened with my nlrb case so I did have money coming in. The union did have my back I can say that. But I don't have any faith in the nlrb and I think the union handled the organizing of my former conway barn very poorly. I don't think the union has the man power or knowledge to go after LTL companies such as conway and FedEx. Needless to say I work for FedEx freight now but I don't think I'd do it again and try to get the union at my new FedEx barn. Not because I don't believe that the union isn't best for the working man and the company has my best interest at heart but because I don't believe the union knows how to get it done against these big powerful LTL companies and no backing from the nlrb I just can't be another casualty in the war union vs company. I have nothing but respect for the union and my fellow coworkers that stuck their necks out as I did in tying to get a union at Conway but speaking from the front line and have been through the war and seeing both sides of it till I see a better plan from the unions on going after these companies I'll be laying low at FedEx freight.
You sound like good man,the reason the unions are getting weaker is because all the laws the repuplicans are passing that are anti union I can't name all the laws but you can look them up one law is a union has to represent you even if you don't pay union dues.people like you can't give up because that's what these companies do and want we have to make it better for our kids, and it starts with who we are electing we have to start electing people that will represent us and not the rich we are the majority the common people, they and the media have us divided over gun rights birth rights marriage rights over stuff that doesn't effect us in our everyday life we the people have to unit over human right workers right and a right to work and get payed that keeps up with the cost of living so we don't have to work 2-3 jobs. What I'm saying is the people we have put in power to represent us are selling us and this country out, if we loose the unions in this country we all will be making 10-12 dollars an hour if we are lucky, you see all the big rich companies love what Walmart pays there workers that's where we are headed unless we make unions stronger by having more members.
I believe it's the IBT that's making the calls on how organizing is being done by local union's. After I was fired from conway as I said the union I supported did have me working with them. But I was the only one keeping in contact with old coworkers at my conway barn. No-one at the union reached out to them. Guys would call me to find out what was happening with the union drive. When I'd ask the union what was going on they'd give me the same answer of things would happen. But nothing ever did happen. Union cards myself and other guys got signed went to waste because guys left conway and the guys still there that signed no longer wanted anything to do with the union because the lack of push from the union. So with all that now that I'm art FedEx freight I can't put myself on the chopping block to have the union hang me out to dry and use me getting fired again to get other guys to sign up using "look what the company did to him so that's why you need the union".
Stand together gentlemen. As a fedex driver I am at Conway in east Brunswick NJ handing out flyers guys. We need to come together and stand up . management is telling the men not to stop at the gate. That is your right ignore management.
Now that xcg(Chicago) will be closing their making guys bid for x amount of spots at their original barns and if they don't have the seniority they have 5 other barns they can choose to go to. Part time dock guys will be lucky if they still have a job. People from my old barn at xme are texting and calling me saying how guys that wanted no part of the union when we started the union drive are all for the union now. Glad I'm at FedEx now and don't have to worry about bidding for a job that I worked hard for. All i can do now is lol because I tried telling those same guys just because they gave us raises and they weren't being fucked with doesn't mean they shouldn't want representation. Now xpo is the owner and their bidding for jobs. Lol fucking dummies crying now. Glad conway trumped up charges and had me fired. I'll be planning my next move at FedEx and waiting to see if the union can come up with a better plan to organize but till then good luck kool aid drinkers that kool aid ain't soo sweet now is it.
