They must not need a pension. Cause conway paaayys so much and cares on our well being. Lets see who gets a pension first. Hey CONGRAGULATIONS. hey two out of three it's a start. We need another terminal for a tie breaker

Anonymous said...

Sell your soul to the devIL for a few bucks Heard the dock workers were the ones that ruined it for ula

Anonymous said...

Ula = no pension. Ufv = no pension Ulx = ppension & job security

know what the difference is between a laredo driver and the rest of us, besides there balls to stand up to conway, is that after 20 years of service is that when they retire they're gonna be with there families with no worries cause they have a monthly pension check coming in and the rest of us we'll have a shitty fuckin cake. Maybe we'll have social security or a church that gives out food since we are use to conways table scraps then we might just be alright maybe. Lets hope in one hand and crap in the other let's see which one fills first

Eeee brothers, congratulations to all California, all my brothers of ulx, the others two have another opportunity again later, remember this FIGHT IS NOT finish, and we have to support ula and ufv they do it what they can. The rest terminals they are GOING TO WIN, this is the begining, this fight is NOT over.

Anonymous said...

Don't get discouraged just cuz two service centers voted no.... Ufv lost by just one vote

Anonymous said...

Damn just one vote made the difference in UFV...

Anonymous said...

All three terminals should be thanked for their courage to take a vote. The ones that won't even look in the mirror to see they have been striped of respect and pride should quit or retire. I will not give into the company either way because it's to painful to bow to an employer who lies and takes from me. So wayto go SO CAL and for the rest of Conway the wait and see terminals fuck you.

Anonymous said...

Many more good things to come. This is just the begining. Congrats ulx.

Anonymous said...

How can those terminals be so blind in seeing what is happening and not vote for the union, guess they want to live in a bush when they retire.

Anonymous said...

This is a victory for ULX! It's a learning tool for the two terminals that lost the right to have union representation. I hope knowone gets cold feet. Con-way corporate will say it's a victory be prepared to have some lies coming your way. The best thing that could happen now is to have more terminals ask for union representation sign the cards and keep moving forward. If drivers think that Con-way will quit taken from us your wrong. They will not listen or give what drivers deserve until we have union backing and a contract. Lets go midwest do something now!!!

Anonymous said...

Congratulations ULX on choosing to have a chance at a future! Remember we don't need all the terminals, just a majority. I guess the other 2 terminals are quite happy for management (2 millionaire douchebags in Ann Arbor) to decide
what's best for their families. ....

Anonymous said...

Great news, congrats ulx. Bigger and brighter futures are ahead. The underground is bubbling with enthusiasm. A hard days work is worth a fair amount of RESPECT. Wake up Ann Arbor.

Anonymous said...

This movement is about pension not hourly, mileage. The senior guys sittin pretty and the youth are clueless. Lets educate to get all on same page. VOTE YES

Anonymous said...

Congratulations ULX! You made the right choice and don't let anyone try to tell you any different. Just wait, the Southeast and Northeast are about to reinforce what LLA and ULX had the guts to do. I am so very proud of the men and women of these 2 terminals.

Anonymous said...

Congrats ULX . UFV and ULA hold your heads high ya'll done something few have done and that is petion for the right to vote for representation. The ones that voted against will forever regret that decision, conway now will know that the illegal bribe of a raise will be taken one way or the other and there is no going back, so you drivers enjoy the fucking conway will give now so good luck ULA and UFV.

Anonymous said...

That's great news ULX!! Way to go! I feel sorry for ULA, UFV. You guys will need a 55 gallon drum of vaseline at each terminal for what lies ahead for you.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe these so cal terminals are part of the stockton region. DSR's in this region will make upwards of $27 an hour and already get OT after 8 hours, giving them the ability to earn $80k -$100k a year quite easily. This would be my guess why we have not heard from anyone in the mountain west either. ULV, USU, URE, UPI,UBI,UGJ,UDV. All these terminals make excellent pay where cost of living is relativly cheap. They all must be more important than the rest of us in the Midwest and south. Think about it, they probably make about $500 more per week than we do in the south. I would like a slice of that pie. How about you?

Does anyone in the south make $100k? Please sound off.

ULX you are real men, and by the way intelligent. By going Union you gaurantee your top pay, and have a pension and better health care on top of that. We are proud of you! We are united with you. More yes votes coming soon.

What happen to pacoima conway lets do its for the drivers to dictate not just management.

Anonymous said...

Well, I'll bet conways up to the same old shit of showing Ula and Ufv who there big daddy is. All the no's will soon be wishing they just said yes!

Great job ULX !!!!! Just one more terminal in the right direction. We needed some positiive news. After the company bribed everyone with a pay raise I'm glad some workers are smart enough to now its not just about the money. Pension, Better Health Care, Respect, Job Security. Keep the movement going. To those who voted the union down in California I regret your decisions but that's what is great about thus country Democracy. Just remember your vote the next time you watch a driver or dockworket unjustly fired or the next time the company takes away employee benefits and gives you the worst health insurance in the industry. Don't be decisived by Conway's bribes , they have showed us how they value their employees by their actions over the last 7 years. Keep the movement alive. Unity we stand devided we get screwed again.

Should have kept dock workers out of vote their thinking short term

We are not blind people just change their mind at last moment. I do not judge them I'm just waiting to see what is going to happen now at the terminal they just won a battle but not the war.if nothing change I'm just going to watch all those guys that vote against to come to one of us because they feel that they made a mistake and that now they will vote for the union. I will always be forwarded to get the union in .

Well its about 10:30am in the morning here in Calif. The Sun is shining but it sure feels like its a gloomy day.Im out doin my job feeling like right about now the Con-Way pigs are celebrating there victory over us in Calif,Writing a big fat pay check to the union busters and making plans to give them selves a big bonus and a raise,At the same time making plans to cut more from us and implament more lean rules on how to make us work more like slaves..But im still holding for hope and that the others location have the Smarts to Stand UP,Get United and Form a NATION WIDE UNION.BECAUSE THE FIGHT ISNT OVER!!!!SO COME ON Con-Way BROTHERS AND SISTERS WE CAN STILL WIN.GET UNITED, VOTES YES FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE.MAKE IT COUNT ALL IT TAKES IS A YES FROM US.I STILL HAVE HOPE THAT IT CAN BE DONE,AND THANKS LAREDO,TEXAS FOR GIVING US THE FIRST SPARK OF LIGHT AND TO ALL THE OTHER WHO STAND NEXT TO LAREDO..

Step up or shut up

Im sorry I just can not understand why any Conway terminal would turn down such an opportunity, The favoritism would disappear, seniority would once again mean something, you would have a right to stand up and say what you think without the threat of having 15 motels on your run the next day, So I feel if you don't share these concerns with me I bet you are either one of the rats or just a plain suckass, Was Is and Will be YES

I don't want people to get the wrong idea about this vote... CON JOB SPENT LOADS OF CASH TO WIN THEM TWO TERMINALS... THEY CANNOT SPEND THAT KIND OF MONEY ALL OVER THE U.S... THIS IS A STOCK MARKET OWNED COMPANY.. THE SHARE HOLDER'S WILL HAVE SAY SOON... CON JOB REALLY NEEDED TO WIN ALL THREE TERMINALS TO JUSTIFY ALL THE MONEY... AND ITS JUST THE ICEBERG MANY MORE WILL BE TAKEN A VOTE SOON AND ALL YOU REALLY NEED IS 51 PERCENT TO PETITION THE NLRB TO FORCE CON JOB TO MAKE A NATIONAL CONTRACT... LOOK IT UP AND CHECK IT OUT... LETS GET EVERYBODY INFORMED AND FINISH THIS .... SIGNED A DISRESPECTED MIDWEST DRIVER... CONGRATS TO ALL THE S.CAL TERMINALS FOR STANDING UP...

Let's try what fed ex did go to the NLRB and petition for the dock workers to be excluded, fedex won there petition so can we so if the dock workers are a problem keep them out, im sure there are some good ones but if they cause a lost because mgt scares them DO NOT include them , conway does not control that, include DRIVERS only no one else, FED EX did it so can we, you drivers check it out FED EX won that thru the NLRB IT'S ON CHANGE FEd EX TO WIN. I had a terrible experience working there I heard he's the greatest place to work for no other place compares you better off outside looking in once you start working there ...especially when they bring you in as an apprentice I'm not a journeyman that's their way of being cheap 7 months I worked there I did everything they wanted me to do I even work nights with no shift difference in pay which is bullshit......Lean deal is crap.all time I was there I've been good quality work but being underpaid I was doing with journeyman we're doing by the apprentice pay just crap then I gave my notice I gave a two week notice the next day I came into work it can be I'm basically thanks Courtney out with no pay for that day and they screwed me out of two weeks pay which is BS they treat employees like crap you still do to this day that's why nobody lasts there longer than a few months.they do have their favorites......any really treat the mechanics like crap without them trucks will not be running or trailers will not be on the road...when I had my interviews I was told that they're bringing me in at journeyman level knots apprentice then I got a phone call that same day after my interview and they said they made a mistake bs but at that time I needed a job I thought I can work my way up to that level the way they put you under pay you they don't appreciate you I can go on and on and on I hope they fix this management sucksand I don't care have a family to take care of I really would not be posting this but I found out about it I respect others they don't respect you

Trying to post this won't let me

Anonymous said...

I cannot believe that the dockworkers were the ones who screwed the pooch. They are the first ones to go in a pinch. They have less job security than the drivers. On the positive side I had dinner tonight with the international president. This thing is much more than what we think. A big push will be happening in November nationwide. ZI was told that at the present time 74 locals have been contacted by various drivers and information is being secretly gathered.

I heard they had pizza at ula today, I hope those drives washed it down with their pride

We need to contact local 104 and ask them how they petioned fed ex for a driver only union and that's what we have to do. Today I asked a dock worker what he thought of the union flat out he said if the union comes in we are fired I was shocked to know this guy was a little clueless. After I informed him that it's against the law for conway to fire u for wanting the union he said that that's what was told to him by management. Management is breaking the law by threatening people with dismissal if they try to put the union in. From now on every time you walk in the office or around a supervisor put your phone on record and record someone breaking the law like our friends in laredo

Brothers and sisters lets not get it wrong! This is a victory! They say "it only takes a spark to set a fire" ...make no mistake about it, this is a win! A win in what will be a long game! Mr.Conway wont just roll over! (And why should he?) Tis is a fight! "Ya win someya loose some". These terminals that went the other way are still our brothers, and we will carry them to the final win! Its what all great men do in a battle, they charge ahead and if need be we'll drag the weaker ones home too!
This is nothing new to the labor movement! We (and i do me WE as in the working class fighters) after all we are the movement that brought children out of sweatshops and men home with family after 40

This goes out to all who tried to Make a difference by VOTING YES to brotherhood at ULA and UFV.I for one thank you for standing up for the working people and not letting the bull shit blind you.As for the dock workers being the problem are we sure that was the real reason the union wasnt voted in?Because Im thinking that if every driver had voted yes ther's no way the union wasnt vote in.So maybe some drivers wheren't interest in having the union or brain washed or bribed to vote no.So lets not start pointing fingers at some one who might not have done it.We just lost. But lets hope that not everyone is a sheep to Con-Ways bull shit.I have faith that we will come on top..Lets make it happen by VOTING A BIG YES.

=====================================
and below is the boards denial of their appeal!!

FedEx's Appeal to the NRLB on Philly Election Denied!
FEDEX FREIGHT, INC.
Employer
and Case 04-RC-134614
INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD
OF TEAMSTERS LOCAL 107
Petitioner
ORDER1
The Employer’s Request for Review of the Regional Director’s Decision and
Direction of Election is denied as it raises no substantial issues warranting review.
MARK GASTON PEARCE, CHAIRMAN
HARRY I. JOHNSON, III, MEMBER
NANCY SCHIFFER, MEMBER
Dated, Washington, D.C., October 14, 2014

1 Member Johnson finds the petitioned-for unit appropriate under the Board’s traditional
community of interest analysis in similar driver cases. See, e.g., Home Depot USA, Inc.,
331 NLRB 1289, 1291 (2000) (3-0 decision of Chairman Truesdale and Members Fox
and Brame, finding appropriate separate unit of drivers). The Employer contends that,
because the drivers perform a substantial amount of dockwork and hostling work, the
appropriate unit must include dockworkers. This argument is not compelling. Although
city drivers and road drivers spend 8% and 18%, respectively, of their time in non-driving
work, this figure is still significantly below the 30-40% figure in Home Depot. Id. at
1290. Accordingly, Member Johnson finds no need to express a view whether the Board
correctly decided Specialty Healthcare Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center of Mobile,
357 NLRB No. 83 (2011), enfd. sub nom. Kindred Nursing Centers East, LLC v. NLRB,
727 F.3d 552 (6th Cir. 2013), and whether the Regional Director correctly applied it here.

APPENDIX C: WORKERS’ RIGHTS UNDER THE NLRA
The following is a summary of the rights of employees guaranteed by the NLRA.
Section 8(a)(1)-Interference with Section 7 Rights (the rights of employees guaranteed by the Act)
“Employees shall have the right to self-organization, to form, join, or assist labor organizations, to bargain collectively through representatives of their own choosing, and to engage in other concerted activities for the purpose of collective bargaining or other mutual aid or protection, and shall also have the right to refrain from any or all of such activities except to the extent that such right may be affected by an agreement requiring membership in a labor organization as a condition of employment as authorized in Section 8(a)(3).”
Examples of the rights protected by this section are the following:
• Forming or attempting to form a union among the employees of a company
• Joining a union whether the union is recognized by the employer or not
• Assisting a union to organize the employees of an employer
• Going out on strike to secure better working conditions
• Refraining from activity on behalf of a union
Section 8(a)(3)-Discrimination Against Employees
Section 8(a)(3) makes it a ULP for an employer to discriminate against employees “in regard to hire or tenure of employment or any term or condition of employment” for the purpose of encouraging or discouraging membership in a labor organization. In general, the Act makes it illegal for an employer to discriminate in employment because of an employee’s union activity. A banding together of employees, even in the absence of a formal organization, may constitute a labor organization for the purposes of Section 8(a)(3). It also prohibits discrimination because an employee has refrained from taking part in union activity except where a valid union-security agreement is in effect. Discrimination within the meaning of the Act would include such action as refusing to hire, discharging, demoting, assigning to a less desirable shift or job, or withholding benefits.
Section 8(a)(4)-Discrimination for NLRA Activity
Section 8(a)(4) makes it a ULP for an employer “to discharge or otherwise discriminate against an employee because he has filed charges or given testimony under this Act.” This provision guards the right of employees to seek the protection of the Act by using the processes of the NLRB. Like the previous section, it forbids an employer to discharge, layoff, or engage in other forms of discrimination in working conditions against employees who have filed charges with the NLRB, given affidavits to NLRB investigators, or testified at an NLRB hearing. Violations of this section are in most cases also violations of Section 8(a)(3).
30
Section 8(a)(5)-Refusal to Bargain in Good Faith
The Act requires an employer and the representative of their employees to meet at reasonable times, to confer in good faith about certain matters, and to put into writing any agreement reached if requested by either party. The parties must confer in good faith with respect to wages, hours, and other terms or conditions of employment, the negotiation of an agreement, or any question arising under an agreement.
Bargaining obligations are imposed equally on the employer and the representative of their employees. It is a ULP for either party to refuse to bargain collectively with the other. The obligation does not, however, compel either party to agree to a proposal by the other, nor does it require either party to make a concession to the other.CH

Well BROTHERS AND SISTERS,We who want to change for the better and are sick of the BULL SHIT excuses from the Thiefs at the top.We need to Stand united.Ither wise Its allways something about why we dont get paid a good wage or get a pension or they give such low medical coverage(most of us cant even afford to put family in the coverage). But has any one else noticed How they have no excuses when it comes to ther compensation payment. When was the last time they took a Pay cut or cut there benefits? So my question is how is it the company makes record amount of profits but wher still having cuts in our compensation? and they do it with out even a second thought.Would this happen if we all got together voted the union in and had a contract? But all this happens because some are so brain washed or just stupid they belive anything the company tells them.We need to educate some of this people,That the company only cares about them making a profit of us slaves(LEAN SYSTEM).To stop being slaves we need to UNITE and CONQUER,With a contract that protects us like Employees not just expendable slaves. So educate and will win this war.

What hpnd in ula is pretty simple company came in offered a raise that was one of the big game changers, that alone changed the vote of around 10 people who were pro union. All of a suden u got about five or four old guys that can barely walk and we're supposed to retire in 1 to 1 1/2 years saying that now they do not know when they will retire. What these people dont see is that the only reason we were offered a raise is bcuz of union activity!!!! They will learn the hard way. I was a part of the 51 that dropped a automatic YES in ula. Yes I remember the video! The more I think about it the more wrong I see in everything that is done! It is like always a 36 month plan for everything is in place, the drivers are always the loser!

It would be nice if we could all vote at one time this terminal by terminal is very hard to keep the motivation. What else would get attention is if all the drivers turn the stock into just their 401k it can be done. We drivers don't have to keep conway stock that they give us. If we could pick a date and all drivers convert their conway stock on the same day this would get some attention from the stockholders. Pick a day and I'll dump my stock also. This could make the stock drop for a day anyhow. It's a nice idea but we can't even get our act together on voting in a union. Come on drivers we are smarter then management lets keep the union train rolling.

Ok,Well i see one guy OR girl? admitted seeing the video. But here's the answer to my question.About 2years ago we saw a video of Doug Stotlar Speaking about his Daughter havin been killed in a terrible accident, and no im not saying it wasn't a terrible accident.Because yes it was and i feel horroble for there loss.(May she be with God)So this is where I think his a dirt bag. When morale was low and goin lower and productivity was goin down at all Con-Ways He makes this video and uses his Daughter to BRAIN WASH people into feeling sorrow for him,But it worked because after the videos,Morale went up, productivity jumped up to a high level. But where I noticed this was just a BRAIN WASHING video. He said in the video and someone correct me if im wrong.I got the call about my daughter and i was flown right away straight to her.Ok So now let me ask?If we got a call LIKE THAT while out doin our job and you called dispatch would they tell you to park the truck in a safe place and take a taxi to where ever and Con-Way will pay for it.Or would they tell you to finish what your doin then you can go on your own time?Hmm i bet its #2.Shows how much were worth to the comapany and him. Then he goes on about how he went to the bus terminals and had a big meeting with them about making things safer.Really?Does any one know how may people have died at Con-Way locations(I know of a few people (By the way we had a Driver run over a bicyclist,I didnt see Stotlar at our location dont think he shows up at any location after an accident). But he went to the Schools and Bus Terminals to have a big safety meeting.Safety is a joke at Con-Way.I know most of you have been trained in safety because every year they give us a folder with our name writen on it and it has a bunch of papers in it.They tell you when your on break sign the papers and turn them back in.Now your safety certified. But Stotlar and Con-Way is all about safety.RIGHT??So heres where i get pissed off after his done talking about his daughter. He tells us now get out there and work safe and work hard because your the driving force..Really???? Because they sure dont pay us like it.Then about 6moths later company profits go up.and our profits get cut. Then video #2 comes out.Stotlar says thanks for all the responds about my daughter. But you guys need to get back to work,Oh yeah did i mention where Implamenting LEAN So now youll have to work more efficient and productive so Con-Way can make more profit..So their it is.Pretty sneaky of them right??But they got record setting moral, productivity, efficienty, and profits.WHAT DID WE GET OUT OF THE WORK WE BEEN DOIN??Ill Give YOU GUYS AND GIRLS 3 GUESSES.ITS THE NUMBER BEFORE 1.Guess#2 when you retire youll be using food stamps because??Guess#3 if you get sick and have no coverage to pay with??Basically with out unity and a union.YOUR RIGHT WE GOT SCREWED!!!BUT THATS JUST MY OPINION, WE MAY WANT TO ASK ULA AND UFV THO.

Guarantee you if it is union comes in that place would change...also they claim not to me a dealership they r actually they don't want ppl to know that. ....lyers......ppl need to realize that place is a joke they try to be professional but there not rather work in a small shop than work there....only good thing was leaving.best day of my life ...for years I heard work at Conway ...great place yeah right shit hole ...

Don't forget that Conway isn't going to send drivers into a snowstorm because they want us to be safe. Last winter we had 3 drivers trying to get to our reship in a severe snowstorm and rolled their kites. Safety first my ass.

You know i hear the same thing from people that i have worked with.Your also right about being a dealer.Con-Way doesnt just make money of freight they have there paws into alot of money schemes. Here in calif they sold like 30 of the old trucks to the state and they got millions out of the deal. The Shitty part of the hole thing,Its our tax money that comes out of our pay checks. So they gave them back 3times the money they pay us.Then everything Con-Way spends its all a tax write off and high return.SO COME EVERYONE IF WE'R ALL FED UP WITH THE COMPANIES MAKING ALL THIS MONEY FROM OUR HARD WORK AND NOT TREATING US RIGHT.ITS DOESNT MATTER WHAT YOU DO.LETS STAND UP UNITE AND SPEAK OUT LOUD AND CLEAR.FOR OUR RIGHT TO MAKE A GOOD LIVING.THIS COUNTRY WAS BUILT BY UNITY OF THE WORKING CLASS.WE ALL JUST NEED CONTRACTS TO BE UP HELD,AND IF THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT, IS BY A UNION THEN LETS.VOTE YES TO THE UNIONS.BUT LETS REMEMBER IT SHOULD BE FOR ALL WORKING CLASS.BUT ITS STARTS OUT BY A VOTE OF YES FOR A BETTER WAY OF LIFE.

Get your facts straight ulx passed... much respect to ulx

Now that the yes vote has passed in ULX, it's time to embrace it. Do not fight amongst yourselves. The strength comes from the number of people united. Campaigning time i over. The fence has been removed. The majority stuck together. Future contracts will affect the people that voted no. Like it or not you ARE now a part of it. By working together we can all benefit from this. Get over it, jump on board and keep the train a rollin'.

Seems like con-way has started to divide us.But weather we want to do this as a whole unit or in separate units the results should still be the same.WE all want a better future. We want to change con-way for our benefit not keep it the way it is now where they are the only ones to profit from our hard work.I would prefer everyone as a whole unit to stand up and fight. But their's to many doubters.Ither because they just been there to long to care or some who just dont get what a great benefit to have a legal contract would do.But pointing fingers at each other isn't helpful in any battle. We all need to think change, and that change will only come from us.By voting Yes to the union.pEOPLE Think About it what is the word UNION STAND FOR??Again just my opinion.I would love to see Con-Way CHANGE FOR THE WELL BEING OF ALL ITS WORKERS.

At ULA only 5 dock workers stand for the yes but the rest of us voted no. Shame in us for not having our representation in.
The reason I was offered to become a driver and make a lot more money if I voted no in election . But I prefer to thrown my yes vote even thought I may never become a driver but I think for my future and job security. Now thanks to my fellow coworkers I can become a driver but not having a job security or pension or even worse not having dignity.
My best advise for next terminals to petition it's to keep dock workers out of election and add them later into ur contract

When can we at ULA vote for union again? Drivers only!!!

Anonymous said...

You can petition again in 1 year.
