No Future at Conway

There are currently plans in place at Conway that they are set to implement within the next few years. Those plans include the complete elimination of line haul runs. They plan on using contractors to run the freight. Furthermore, they plan on doing away with full-time employees and moving to a part-time and temp workforce. The purpose of that being a reduction in pay and abolishment of health benefits. It looks like Conway is dead set on doing this and they will do this. The only way to avoid this is to organize a union. These kind of drastic change of operations doesn't  happen at ABF, YRC, or UPS. Their work is legally protected by their UNION contracts. If we hope to have any kind of future here at Conway it's time we get our own contract.

Outsourcing Jobs

In a show of pure Capitalistic greed, Conway, plans to outsources office jobs to the Philippines. A common practice among union-free corporations, Conway was not to keep paying a respectable living-wage to have their billing done. No, instead they plan to scan the bills and send them overseas where they will no doubt save money by paying a poverty wage to people in a third-world country. What else can this company keep getting away with??? What will it take for the work force at Conway to band together and force Conway to keep jobs here? United we have a voice! Divided we will keep falling one by one.

YRC VOTE

More Corporate Lies

We need to stress to all the drivers and dock workers that we cannot let ourselves be fooled by the lies that Conway has said about closing down the terminal if the union is voted in. Closing the terminal as a whole if the union is voted in is illegal. They have already been closing the doors to us, one by one. If we don't fight and sacrifice to bring in the union then you can expect the company forcing each of us into early retirement or try to find ways to terminate us once we get up in age. Bringing in the union is essential to securing our future. The company has been saying that they closed a terminal in San Francisco over 20 years ago because they wanted to form a union. That is a blatant lie! Our CEO and stockholders are making billions off our backs! It's time we get a bigger and fair share of the pie. Voting the union in will mean that we get a pay raise, lower medical premiums, and job security! We are as much a part of this corporation as they are! This won't be easy, it will be a tough mountain to climb but once we get to the top, we will have paved a better future for ourselves and the younger guys coming in. It's not up to Conway to form a union, it's up to us!

Hypocrisy in Safety

Don Anderson is a man that failed as a driver and as a dock worker. He didn't have the work ethic to make it in either position. Lazy and not worried about safety. He used to use a radar detector in his tractor. That's the type f man he is. After not cutting it, he somehow ended up with a management position. Now, he's been pushing hard on the surveillance cameras that go in the tractors. Disguised under the false pretense of safety. It's nothing more than a tool to intimidate the drivers to up production and to invade their private conversations. He has been going around warning drivers that they will use the cameras and begin to terminate drivers. What could be safer than a driver that is worried about everything but controlling the vehicle properly? Drivers will be penalized for not shifting right, letting the RPMs go to high or for speed. A safe driver should feel comfortable doing his work and not be worried about everything under the sun that Conway can use to terminate them. Don Anderson stands for everything Conway is. Disgraceful, Hypocritical, and Unethical.
