XPO/Con-way National Leafletting

Teamsters from Local 445 in Rock Tavern, New York reached out drivers with XPO/Con-way in nearby Montgomery today. During the second day of national leafleting today, momentum and enthusiasm continues to grow across the country, as former Con-way drivers seek fairness and a more secure future. At the same time, at the Ports of LA and Long Beach, port workers are taking action for fairness, justice and a voice on the job. XPO workers are all in this together and their strength and solidarity are growing from coast to coast!

Leafleting is under way in the Atlanta area, where Bo Whitener, a volunteer/member from McKesson and other members of Teamsters Local 728 are reaching out to XPO/Con-way drivers. The leafleting at XPO/Con-way terminals got off to a great start today and it coincides with the XPO port drivers’ actions at the Ports of LA and Long Beach. Scores of Teamster local unions are participating and the response from XPO/Con-way drivers has been overwhelmingly positive. Momentum in the campaign is building every day!

You may talk about it on company time if it does not affect your work assignment. If you are walking across the parking lot is one example. Passing out literature in the parking lot before or after work is what really needs to happen. This is where your organizing team comes into play. Take turns to cover more time.

  79. From the NLRB site.

    Your Rights during Union Organizing
You have the right to form, join or assist a union.

You have the right to organize a union to negotiate with your employer over your terms and conditions of employment. This includes your right to distribute union literature, wear union buttons t-shirts, or other insignia (except in unusual "special circumstances"), solicit coworkers to sign union authorization cards, and discuss the union with coworkers. Supervisors and managers cannot spy on you (or make it appear that they are doing so), coercively question you, threaten you or bribe you regarding your union activity or the union activities of your co-workers. You can't be fired, disciplined, demoted, or penalized in any way for engaging in these activities.

Working time is for work, so your employer may maintain and enforce non-discriminatory rules limiting solicitation and distribution, except that your employer cannot prohibit you from talking about or soliciting for a union during non-work time, such as before or after work or during break times; or from distributing union literature during non-work time, in non-work areas, such as parking lots or break rooms. Also, restrictions on your efforts to communicate with co-workers cannot be discriminatory. For example, your employer cannot prohibit you from talking about the union during working time if it permits you to talk about other non-work-related matters during working time.

    1. The management or company can do what ever they please..
We have no say in what they can do.

    2. You can talk all you want about the union in your work place as long as you are on your time not on company time or on the Clock.
The problem is that their afraid of the the Powers that we the people have, or in this case in organizing a Union. Check your Rights. Good luck.

  99. So then you need to file charges against him. Contact the NLRB as they would be interested in hearing about it.

  101. I guess it will be another Conway after all it seems like half of the nation's employees of X-CONWAY NOW XPO LOGISTICS
most of them will never Learn what it is to have a better future or better life just where they are at simply by having a Union to back them up for the People by the People, but then the . Intolerant of Stupidity will always Dominate oneselfs to Defeat in their own Opinion or Minds.
    Its Called Ignorance!!!!
Knowing you can all have a better future you would all Settle for mediocrity, Let's just leave it like that!

  104. ladies and Gentlemen just to let you all know the truth about why all of you actually got a raise back on Jan 4th, 2015 of a $2.00 or in this matter every Terminal got their Raises$$$ whatever they were, PS: Miami DSR's are making
$25.41 an Hour. and we want you to (NEVER FORGET) why all of you got your Raises, it was because of the Miami Terminal going Union and getting Certified by the NLRB!! as a Union Terminal because of the way that X-Conway TM was treating us in their Favoritism & Discrimination and of course with no Integrity to ever back it up that's why our former TM had to go for all the Wrong doing to her own employee's but she didn't care and why Because she was STUFFING herself under the table with $$$$ and getting Rich in doing Wrong to the People that made her look good at the end of the Day! so she got what she Deserved, but hey here is something you probably didn't know or maybe you do? !THE COMPANY KNEW ABOUT IT AND DID NOTHING TO STOP IT!
So we ask all of you that have common scene, morals and Dignity to yourselves, are you going to let this happen again with XPO when the time comes???
we would hope Not! Understand 1 thing you have the Power to change your future not Mr Jacobs of XPO that has a Contract so ask him how does it feel to have a Contract Mr Jacobs?
Vote Union all the Way this is what Corporate America is Afraid of.
WE THE WORKING CLASS GOING UNION TO HAVE A BETTER LIFE & FUTURE,IF NOT YOU WILL ALWAYS BE ( AN AT WILL EMPLOYEE IN A RIGHT TO WORK STATE.
WE THE PEOPLE REST OUR CASE.
