(GREENWICH, Conn.) – Today, XPO workers from the United States and Europe, along with union leaders, gathered outside the XPO Logistics shareholder meeting to call for CEO Bradley Jacobs to meet with them to address a laundry list of serious concerns.
XPO is a top 10 global logistics company and its employees around the world are angry about the company’s anti-worker actions and abuses. So far, Jacobs has spurned their requests to meet. A delegation attended the meeting to demand a meeting to discuss workers’ concerns.
“Many of the 19,000 employees of XPO/Con-way Freight are very upset about the company’s refusal to bargain in good faith, the terminal closures, the subcontracting and layoffs,” said Tyson Johnson, Director of the Teamsters National Freight Division. “Workers are fighting back by forming their union with the Teamsters."
“Today’s action in Greenwich is historic because the Teamsters and members of several labor unions in Europe are coming together to tell the truth about XPO’s campaign of global greed,” said Fred Potter, Director of the Teamsters Port Division. “The company is mistreating port, warehouse and freight workers across the U.S. and the world.”
XPO is mismanaging the integration of its new businesses which has created significant operational and financial risk for the company and its investors. In addition to the Con-way Freight workers’ struggles, the company’s port and rail drivers are fighting company wage theft in excess of $200 million because of persistent misclassification as independent contractors.
XPO’s greed also extends to Europe beginning with breaking its promise to not layoff any workers in France for at least 18 months after XPO’s purchase of Norbert Dentressangle SA. Workers in Europe and their unions have been fighting back against XPO’s disrespect, lies and attempts to slash jobs.
"We applaud today's action in Greenwich,” said Steve Cotton, General Secretary of the International Transport Workers Federation (ITF). “This event is the first time that a new network of concerned workers has taken action on XPO. The company has to listen. The company has to talk."
The coalition of workers and unions plans more events in an effort to get Jacobs to meet with the group to discuss the workers’ issues.
The 1.4 million-member International Brotherhood of Teamsters represents more than 75,000 freight members, including nearly 200 at XPO/Conway. For more information, please visit https://teamster.org

  16. Well just when you think xpo got rid of the bull shit Lean crap. Here we go again wasting Millions on bullshit lean programs. The new lean Guru is in the house..
GREENWICH, Conn. - May 18, 2016 -XPO Logistics, Inc. (NYSE:XPO) ("XPO") today announced that it has appointed Ramon Genemaras
to the newly created position of chief transformation officer, effective immediately. Mr. Genemaras will lead the ongoing transformation of the company's global business processes with a P&L focus.

Mr. Genemaras has nearly three decades of senior experience in operations excellence, network optimization, strategic sourcing management and Lean Six Sigma with Fortune 500 companies. He has led the transformation of multi-billion dollar businesses through significant periods of change, including global integration

Now if anyone missed it. XPO love's to make up positions for unqualified people. Just like making the old Lean management into (ass)istant of directors of operations..

What a bunch of wasted money on a bunch of useless people.

  28. Well i kept warning all of you and you still keeping your faith on XPO.. Well here's some news for all of you..

    Summary

Over the past few years, XPO Logistics has engaged in aggressive acquisitions that were done with little regard to the economic/cash flow repercussions.
We blame XPO’s executive compensation plan for the acquisitions that dilute shareholders, grow debt, and lose money.
When looking through the non-GAAP noise, the underlying economics of the business reveal a much worse situation.
Stop us if you've heard this scenario before: soaring debt, significant shareholder dilution, multiple large acquisitions, and executives paid for stock price performance, all of which results in massive revenue growth with no profits. No we're not talking about Valeant (NYSE:VRX) or Perrigo (NYSE:PRGO), or any prior Danger Zone stocks. We're talking about XPO Logistics (NYSE:XPO), which looks like another roll up scheme, for the Danger Zone this week.

  32. To all the terminals just waiting to see what happens in Miami BEFORE you hop on the train: The train could use some help. It's a long hard ride up the hill and the company will do ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING it can to delay the arrival of the train into the station. It costs the company nearly 25K per month to conduct contract talks. Imagine if 10 more terminals filed for representation by the Teamsters. The cost to the company just went up to 250K per month. Imagine again 10 MORE terminals file for union representation. Now, the company is spending 500K per month to conduct contract talks. GET IT YET??? The company is ONLY interested in the bottom line. PROFIT. If we make it less profitable for them to delay reaching agreement on a contract, they will stop delaying and accept the inevitable. You have nothing to lose. Nobody will ever know you signed a card. Nobody will ever know how you voted in the election. Your future is in your own hands. Pick up a pen and sign a card today.

  35. Well said my friend well said the Shit is going to hit the fan soon. Bubba up north I'm waiting for these chicken Shit Billy goats to have some balls and stand up already. Miami great job boys wish everyone had the balls you do keep it going on Union Strong.

    ReplyDelete
  36. It can't be said often enough, "In unity, there is strength". We are protected by the cloak of anonymity. The company will NEVER know that you signed a card. The company will NEVER know how you voted. We do all the work and the profit trickles down to us in the form of hourly pay. They pay us what THEY want to pay, not what we're WORTH. The company will rake in BILLIONS in profits over the next few years and their only concern is the shareholders. To them, we are as replaceable as a piece of equipment. Tractors get old, trash them and buy new ones. Forklifts get old, trash them and buy new ones. To them, drivers are a dime a dozen. They have no respect for the skills and work ethic we bring to the table. They have the money and they have the power. The only way we can shift the balance of power is to join together as one unshakeable unit. Think of a see saw with the 1,000 pound company sitting on one side. One driver mounts the opposite side and the company laughs and says "Is that all you got"? a second driver gets on and the company repeats,"Is that all you got"? All of a sudden, five drivers come from the park and jump on the see saw. The company flies up into the air, desperately trying to hold on...and the drivers say..."We got more where we came from". That's how it works and that's why it's so important to get on the see saw NOW. There will never be a better time for us. MAKE them understand that we are not going away. Make them understand that it is in their own self interest to treat us with the respect and dignity we deserve. Make them spend their money until they realize it will be more profitable to offer us a decent contract than to fight the inevitable. They will fight us until we show them that it will be more profitable for them to JOIN us.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Your wrong we are not replaceable our skills are great the reason there has always been a shortage of drivers is because like athletes there are only those that are truly good that make it,eventually the ones that don't get what it takes to be a trucker will have to many accidents, that will cost them there license or will give it up because they can't handle the pressure. So that's the reason they are always short on drivers. The skilled truck drivers know it and know what it takes. Those skilled drivers and those coming in that are the few that will get what it takes to become great drivers don't sell yourself short,

$25.41 an Hour. and we want you to (NEVER FORGET) why all of you got your Raises, it was because of the Miami Terminal going Union and getting Certified by the NLRB!! as a Union Terminal because of the way that X-Conway TM was treating us in their Favoritism & Discrimination and of course with no Integrity to ever back it up that's why our former TM had to go for all the Wrong doing to her own employee's but she didn't care and why Because she was STUFFING herself under the table with $$$$ and getting Rich in doing Wrong to the People that made her look good at the end of the Day! so she got what she Deserved, but hey here is something you probably didn't know or maybe you do? !THE COMPANY KNEW ABOUT IT AND DID NOTHING TO STOP IT!
