Conway's dirty tricks!

Conway's lawyers and union busters were at the ULX terminal trying to get statements from non supportive drivers to say that they were harassed or intimidated during the campaign. This is bullshit!! It's the same bullshit that they did in Laredo. It's time for us to stand up and punch our company in the gut !!!  We should all walk the fuck out and show Conway who has the power! 

Paul was having his goons spread the rumor that they were going to close down LX because we voted union. Bullshit ! Paul, you know damn well your breaking the law.

Conway management, we know now that WE have the power, we will win this!

Just wanted to add to stay focus, refer to the new site often as needed,, stay informed, watch each others back & keep your cell phones handy (CAPTURE PICS & STATEMENTS IF POSSIBLE). For all future CON-WAY UNION TERMINALS TO COME expect this kind of behavior like PAUL STYERS is displaying. Some manager, fom, or fos will really be caught in the act of breaking the law trust me I can see it coming and they won"t be able to deny it!   10. That morning when ULX won , they had a meeting and said that they are going to replace all drivers at ULA ONE BY ONE whether they voted union or not , trust me I work in the office and I believe what they are doing is not fair.

  14. People! Don't buy into the bullshit they are feeding us. Stay strong, level headed, and do your best at work. It's gonna be a long road to a contract. The busters and management want us to be angry and chaotic. Why? Because chaos disrupts unity. Chaos makes good people make poor choices. Chaos reaps fear. They are counting on this to divide us. Sure I'm pissed off, but I go about my day as normal positive and ready to work hard. If management messes with you, just remember three things. (Yes sir, No sir, and I love this fucking company!) That will be enough to get us where we want to be. No need to walk out. We don't need to punch the company in the gut, although it would feel good. We will do better than that. When we succeed in 51% of the service centers nationwide and the whole enchilada goes Teamsters we will have cut the head off of the snake. When that days comes, and it will. Then instead of us getting replaced one by one, we can start replacing them one by one. Stay cool. Don't quit or get fired before it gets good.

So today I found out one of the reasons ULA didnt win.It wasnt just the dock workers(like most want to blame) but it may have been a language barrier too.Seems like some drivers weren't sure of what was goin on and what the union stood for and they where affraid of what would happen to them if they where seen talking about the union or union reps.So ill say it again for us to unite and have all people join the cause to change conway we must help educate or translate what it means to be in a union,And this isn't to say people are dumb or stupid.But when every thing is happening so fast and you dont understand whats goin on, its a scary thing.But when you have someone to help you see things in a more calm and clear way things become less scary.I for one admit that when i dont understand things i feel like im overwhelmed but when some helps explain things sure makes things easier.So please people lets help those who might need help.Once where all on the same marked target we should have no trouble hitting it.LETS REMEMBER THE TARGET IS TO CHANGE CONWAY FOR A BETTER FUTURE FOR EVERYONE NOW AND YEARS TO COME.How do we change conway?By UNITING at the POLLS AND VOTING YES TO THE UNION.

  17. Conway drivers from every terminal should ask their manager if he would post the federal law poster from NLRB in front other drivers in a meeting setting. The will say it's not conway policy and they don't have to post it by law. At this point we can ask the manager why is it you would not want the drivers the federal law. We as drivers need to know this law because if we don't pay attention the union busters and conway management will continue to break the law. This is a must, if you can film the manager response that would be better.

This goes to the guy who's location is 70% no to the union.We must work in the same location because,Ive posted before when everyone was pointing fingers at the dock workers.Ive said that drivers who been at conway for many years where brain washed by the raise,I hear the same thing.Oh its a great raise conway really cares about its drivers.So i point out,Is that why they cut the pay,benefits,pension and fired hundreds of people about 8years ago.because supposedly the company was goin threw a hard time.But they gave John lebri 5million signing bonus and they spent millions and millions on a race truck and car.not only that they spent over 15million on upgrading their systems,Which by the way failed.Did anyone of us have a say about it?when i spoke out about all of this is,Im told its trial and error.Yes, sure is because we the workers pay for it and conway get a fat tax write off.So im i lying about this?Now about the union.The problem with the union isnt the people in the teamsters corporation.Its the members them selves.Because we as members are the once that make the contracts with the company.thats why in texas their using the UPS contract as a model,It doesnt mean that conway and the Employees are goin to follow the UPS contract.We the members agree to what we want from the company.If the unions are so bad I wonder why The police,fire dept,bus drivers,bridge workers,city workers,actors,writers and athletes have union?I think most of them make a pretty good living with good benefits,and the company cant just take when ever they want.If you listen to the new or watch the news you can see where the company tries to cut something on the workers but when the workers go to there union then the union steps in and fights for the members.But it starts out with the members.So again im i lying about this too?I kinda remember in the late 90s didnt baseball players go on union strike because they wanted to be paid more millions?How that work out for them?.But if conway goes nation wide teamsters.Mayb we should kick out the ones that vote no,Since they wont like better benefits and condition at conway.That would mean the location i work for will be hiring 70% of a new work force.Again just my opinion.

    -----A U.P.S parcel driver total scale $33 an hour for labor, plus they also get $9 an hour for the pension plan and last $7 an hour for health and welfare, so when they retired, they have medical retirement.
    Add all together, is $49 an hour…
    A FedEx courier driver total scale $24 an hour for labor, plus 31 cent an hour for the pension plan and last no medical retirement when they retired.
    Add all together, is $24.31 an hour… minus 3% .81 cent an hour for your contribution to 401k=$23.50---This rate was from a few years ago.We sure are smart to keep the union out.HUH?Way to go Laredo TX.you knew when your getting fucked.

  30. Im sure investors already speculating Conway are abusing employees. The troubles are reflecting on stock. NasDaq reported Conway had a 6% drop today or close to $2.60 drop per share.   31. Grasp the concept that with no pension or health care benefits after retirement you will not be able to cover monthly bills. Take ten minutes and add up what it takes to keep your home operating, calculate with expectation home and vehicles are paid off. Do the math off of social security income. Wont last a month unless pitching a tent sounds good. With a pension we wont have to lose everything we have worked so hard for. Vote Yes!! XNC

  32. I want to remind everyone what a great company it used to be before they fuck it all up. I worked with Emery worldwide airlines we were part of CNF before they changed their name to Con-way Inc. when I started with Emery first day I got hired I got my benefits not 3 months not 1 year first day! How much did I pay for my benefits a week 0 they were free 10 sick days a year vacation not pto. Company paid pension no need for a union then CNF took care of their employees. 2006 what the fuck happened they changed their name to Con-Way Inc they lost their way down hill from there on start taking from the people that made your company and take and take and take till you can't take no more and people get feed up and piss the fuck off!!! Now 2014 there's a need for a UNION NOW! It takes the treat off union and guess what from having no money to giving the biggest raise in company history. Get with Your Local Teamsters or go to Teamster.org and get the ball rolling. don't just wait to see what happens. Make it happen! that goes to every DSR in all Conway Terminals. Don't forget the regional mgrs do your job that's how it got to this point they all cover for each other and come down on us easy to blame the employees you see them going to lunch in groups who's else is paying for their lunch all of us nobody's keeping track of how long their lunch breaks are ?? We need our own contract to protect our jobs pay benifts otherwise they will waste it on theirselves

  50. At XAU on friday the teamsters paid a little visit. Every single night sub-svc park across the street and along the road,but county and local police departments kicked these guys out from both areas. I see the game there playing...I have a phone too, so Aurora start telling your sub-svc guys (if they speak english) they will have to go to the nearest truck stop....40 miles down the fuckin road, also tell em they better throw out there 2nd log book. We will see how well your freight moves from here on out!!!!!

    Thanks, Pat. Good morning. On the call today, I'm joined by members of our senior leadership team, including Con-way's CFO, Steve Bruffett; Con-way Freight President, Greg Lehmkuhl; Menlo Logistics President, Bob Bianco; and Con-way Truckload President, Joe Dagnese. Steve will provide some commentary on our financial picture, and Greg, Bob and Joe will participate in the Q&A portion of the call.

    All of our business units delivered improved results in the quarter led by the performance of Con-way Freight, which recorded a more than 50% increase in operating income compared to last year's second quarter. In conjunction with the release of our quarterly results yesterday, we also announced 2 initiatives designed to return meaningful capital to shareholders, along with an increased level of pension funding for 2014.

    Regarding the shareholder initiatives, our Board of Directors authorized a $150 million share repurchase program and a 50% increase in our common dividend. Given the progress we have made toward our financial objectives, we have reached the point where we can redeploy a portion of our cash balance to fund these shareholder initiatives while maintaining a strong balance sheet. Steve will provide more detail around these actions during his commentary later in today's call.

    Moving to the second quarter's financials. I'll provide an overview of our results. In the second quarter of 2014, Con-way reported consolidated revenues of $1.49 billion compared to $1.38 billion a year ago. On an operating income basis, we earned $102.7 million this quarter compared to $76.3 million last year. Diluted earnings per share were $0.93 compared to $0.75 in the prior year period.

    On a non-GAAP basis, earnings per diluted share in the 2014 second quarter were $0.91 compared to $0.68 in last year's second quarter. Non-GAAP items consisted of tax-related adjustments and gains on sale of property from both years, and an increase in reserves for international bad debt in the prior year.------------IF YOU NOTICED THATS ONLY THE 2Q.

    Employees at the Red River Army Depot located near Texarkana, Texas, employed by URS Federal Services, Inc., have voted in favor of union representation in an NLRB-supervised secret ballot election.
    Agency personnel from the Fort Worth regional office conducted the election. The tally of ballots, which issued on October 22, 2014, shows 509 employees voted in favor of representation by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, AFL-CIO, and 329 opposed.
    If no objections are filed within 7 days of the tally, the union will be certified as the representative of a bargaining unit of approximately 1,004 regular full and part time employees working at the Red River Army Depot.
    The National Labor Relations Board is an independent federal agency vested with the power to safeguard private sector employees’ rights to organize and bargain collectively with their employers and to participate in concerted activities to improve their pay and working conditions.
