XPO Workers in Trenton, New Jersey Vote to Join Teamsters Local 701

XPO drivers in Trenton, New Jersey voted to join Teamsters Local 701 on Friday, April 14, boosting momentum to a nationwide workers' campaign for fairness at the giant transportation and logistics company.
Also voting on Friday, April 14, drivers in Elgin, Illinois and dockworkers in Aurora, Illinois were not successful at this time seeking Teamster representation. The actions of XPO and its high-priced union busters has been egregious and suspect throughout the company's campaigns and will be challenged through the National Labor Relations Board.
The 34 drivers in Trenton join the hundreds of workers nationwide who have already formed their union as Teamsters. The earlier victories were in Aurora (drivers); Miami; Laredo, Texas; Vernon, Calif.; North Haven, Conn.; and King of Prussia, Pa.
"The victory in Trenton and the company's desperate actions in Illinois show that the XPO workers' campaign is getting stronger and stronger, as freight, warehouse and port drivers fight for a more secure future," said Ernie Soehl, Director of the Teamsters National Freight Division, who is also President of Local 701 in North Brunswick, New Jersey. "The workers help make XPO very successful and they deserve to be rewarded for their hard work."
The drivers are seeking decent and affordable health insurance, a secure retirement, job security and a voice on the job. Port, freight and warehouse workers at XPO are coming together across the country in their fight for a more secure future.

  1. This company will sell xpo again, should we be a union before it happens or fight the new company for fairness?

  8. People you don't see what's happening, mechanics are not really fixing anything on the equipment like they're not regenerating the A/C they're not donig any pm on the equipment, we have trailers with balding tires tractors that engine lights come on and are not fixed! what this piece of human shit is doing, is he's spending bare minimum taking all the profit out of the company and he's going to sell or let the company fail and sell it piece by piece. Remember Donald chump is lifting all regulations from corporations. They all got the memo it's all about profits don't worry about safety.

  10. They have no care about safety just profit and they want you to deal with the problems when you have an issue ,They equipment linehaul is a joke, Shop does not repair of things that are near broken only fix it when need be. An when t your tractor comes out of PM you end up on the side of the road two hours later with all your lights on the dash

    1. Union dues are 2 1/2 hours of your hourly pay per month. For example, if you're getting paid $25/hour monthly, union dues are $62.50.

It would also open the door for brad and his access to 17k owner operators to waltz in and take your job,i wholeheartedly agree with your sentiment but its just not going to accomplish what you want it to.

  20. Jacobs is running the share price up by putting a stranglehold on maintenance and reinvestment. He's trying to make the numbers look good to peak the share price at which time he will cash in his chips and move on. In the meantime the company will be nothing but an empty shell unable to recoup to what it once was . When this happens they will look inward to the employees for a bailout. It an old trick that is repeating itself. These Wall Street vampires ( Jacobs)suck the living blood from company to enrich themselves. Senior management knows it's coming and are complicit.Protect yourself from the carnage that is coming.

  21. What would they ask the employees to do to bail out? Has anyone noticed the hiring of newer younger and student drivers? What gives, less salary?

  23. With lack of reinvestment into the company to make the numbers look better for the investors there will be a day in the near future that it will be time to pay piper and the company will once again ask for employee give backs in one form or another to rebuild.

  30. So 2 coworkers get terminated for doing something that previous manager agree to before. I think is just retaliation, because the terminal voted for the union. How they didn't do anything about it previous to us voting yes to the union. I heard other terminal up north they manager agreed for them to take a different route, because of traffic and construction. Have anyone from this terminal got terminated? Probably not, because they haven't vote the union get. I don't know about you guys, but it makes me uneasy been in a environment like that, coming to work and not knowing when your last day at work might be. That's why we need protection from the union. Vote yes.

  33. Attention Bradley Jacobs,

After reading about the sexual infidelities of Mike Allen while he was FOM at XSD terminal for XPO Logistics, the old saying: “old habits are hard to brake” and “the fruit does not fall far from the tree” come to mind.

Mike Allen is now the SCM at XTJ terminal for XPO Logistics and while he and his henchman Jack Fabiani are not busy harassing, belittling, and threatening to fire drivers or bragging about drivers he has already fired, he spends his spare time in the office shooting rubber bands at the young female CSRs’ rear end then asks “I bet that left a welt” like he wants to see.

After all Mike Allen did his managerial apprenticeship with the likes of Steve Sibio, SCM at XHG for XPO Logistics whom the company has already paid out sex abuse lawsuits for. Wonder how long it will be before the company will be paying out money for Mike’s escapades. Here’s a man with a wife and kids, his family doesn’t deserve this, neither does the company!

    Is this acceptable behavior Bradley?

  34. Dan Killeen XSD TM is a racist Irish prick
He needs to go. He shows a lot of favoritism with some of the drivers. He allows some of the drivers to steal time. Some drivers can call out or comes in late and he excuse it every time. He puts most drivers in difficult unsafe situations and don't care. He has no respect for his drivers he talks down to them. Dan like to put you on the spot and put your business in the streets. There should be no reason why most of the drivers knows another driver's personal business. when it comes down to personal things it should be confidential. Dan speaks everyone personal business in front of all employees.
He's very ignorant and he needs to go.
The new FOM is doing a better job then Dan

    1. That's true, upper management let those scum run their terminals without any control but, it's in our hands to file charges against those out of control assholes with the Nlrb, just like I did against former ulx manager, Paul styers. That's how we put this animals in their cages. They're cowards when they're in front of labor judges trying to deny their retaliatory actions against employees.

  39. Thats right my friend and everything that the Union Buster says 99.9% it is all lies just so we would not vote or go union two things will definitely happen and this I promise you one the company will sell eventually 2 we all go Union and if you're protected by the laws of this country then there's very little that the company could do but sell but if you are a certified terminal Union represented you will always be protected by the IBT, the International Brotherhood Teamsters, and by the laws of this country, by the way so you know the company has been lying all along and will keep lying just not to see the union come in, but my friend but my friends I tell you the union will come in eventually because this company is not only corporate greed$$ there are also a discriminatioal company against their employees, and Management has a lot of favoritism only because of Retaliation! Against their union employee members. In Mia/NMF our XX TM N.W she got fired for all the discrimination and greediness against her employees she got what she deserved, also our X TM J.W he was also fired and was always in retaliation against the collective bargaining unit members in Mia he also got what he deserved all although we don't wish either one of them the worst and it's not personal, it was only business but I'm unfortunate it became personal to them. And they both got what they deserved just like everyone else that does good will get his deed and everyone that does evil will also get their fate. So I tell you my friends (don't do unto others what you would not have want done to you.
    Peace out Mia Teamsters.
