XPO Logistics Drivers in Trenton Seek Teamster Representation

(TRENTON, N.J.) – Drivers at XPO Logistics in Trenton, N.J. filed for Teamster representation today, the latest action by workers across the U.S. who are banding together to fight for fair treatment at one of the largest transportation and logistics companies in the world.
The 33 drivers at the former Con-way Freight want to join Teamsters Local 701 in North Brunswick, N.J. and are planning to join workers in Miami, Laredo, Texas; Vernon, Calif.; Aurora, Ill.; North Haven, Conn.; and King of Prussia, Pa. who have already formed their union with the Teamsters.
“The freight workers in Trenton are united, strong and focused on forming their union with the Teamsters so that they can address the issues that are important to them -- better and affordable health insurance, retirement security and a voice on the job,” said Ernie Soehl, Director of the Teamsters National Freight Division and President of Teamsters Local 701.
“The XPO drivers in Trenton have worked hard to get to this point and they are excited to be part of the workers’ nationwide campaign that is gaining momentum,” said Ron Lake, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 701.
Port, freight and warehouse workers at XPO are coming together across the country in their fight for a more secure future.
Founded in 1903, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters represents 1.4 million hardworking men and women throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. For more information, please visit www.teamster.org

    ReplyDelete

    1. Jacobs said Union's are not good for the worker's and he doesn't believe in the union.
If i was able to give myself a 100 million bonus and give myself a 200% raise i wouldn't believe in union's either. Who need's a union when you make over 5 million a year + bonuses every quarter and the worker's just keep giving up their right's. Right Mr.Doug stutler and top management Crew.

    2. he got a 100million dollar bonus?

    3. Here maybe this will answer your question.

Earlier today, Teamsters rallied outside XPO’s shareholder meeting to protest CEO Bradley Jacobs' outrageous greed. Under the new incentive pay plan approved today, Jacobs could be awarded up to 2.5 million shares at any time worth $110 million at today’s prices. Meanwhile, XPO workers face increasing health insurance costs while coverage is being slashed, and workers have no retirement security.

    4. Teamsters got nothing to do with yrc's financial problems it was yrc corporation that made bad investments borrowed money to buy roadway express and then borrowed more money to buy USF and then the economy took a hit in 2008 and yrc couldn't pay the debt or loans.thanks to the teamsters yrc still in business.

  16. Xpn T.M. and his crew need to all go,all are clueless, environment has never been worse, blame and harass drivers for their incompetence and poor numbers.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Guys let's get smart about this movement. Union has so many upsides. Number one is job security. In my terminal we had a guy who flipped a set of doubles and they fired him for it. I don't think that was fair. He was a good worker and that's what happened to him. Also with a union if a manager starts harassing you, you can cuss him out and if he fires you the Union will get your job back because we wood have a contrack to work. I've heard this from many drivers so I no this is true. My friend got a job at yrc after conway fired him and he flipped a set of doubles there to but they didn't fire him and he still working there now and he loves it and loves the Union. I say let's go into the union here at xpo.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Is that what you think the union is for, protection from flipping sets and cursing out managers? You have alot to learn and your pal is a lousy driver and should seek a different career as it sounds like he isn't much good at this.

We're the union, the employees are the union represented by the teamsters if we negotiate a contract with Xpo we need to do our work and make sure the corporation is profitable.

  21. T.M at XPN is clueless on how to run a terminal. It's the drivers fault why we lost our freight, and it's the drivers that need to get it back! We have hardly any freight, and all he does is hire dock workers so drivers have no work.. all the flex drivers have to go to Detroit to get there 8 hours in. They call in flex drivers in at 3 or 4 p.m while there's dock workers that show up at 1 or 2 p.m. So the drivers get 5 hours on the dock then have to drive all the way to Detroit for the rest of there hours. How fucked up is that!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Why don't you transfer to Detroit maybe they will treat you better,or sorry to say--quit, to many opportunities in trucking then keep getting that abuse.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Quitters are cowards and losers. It's our right to stand up and is our "so-called" freedom to organize our union at Xpo and any other company in America!
That's what corporate greed wants us to do, give up and move on while they suck and steal the profits from our hard labor. So hell no, I'm not quitting. Union yes, all the way!

      Delete
    2. No... we're just waiting for some of these old Fucks to retire so we can bring in the union at XPN! Don't have enough yes votes while there still here. We got drivers and dock workers ready to vote yes

      Delete
    3. A few Xpn drivers that are going to retire ain't going to make a difference doing nothing is almost as bad as being a quiter, start the ball rolling now you will get more support than you would amagine, everyone is sick of that egomaniac knowitall prick and his bunch of stooges and being right down the road from corporate headquarters and let them see that we are pissed off up here too,and we are sick of the bullshit and want a better future.

  23. FedEx and Conway are almost identical in the way they are ran except at FedEx they don't work you to death on the dock but both have same same pay and same crappy insurance these corporations are greedy I just think how UPS can afford to pay such higher wager and primo insurance plus a pension and they are still one the biggest players in the business but yet these companies say unions destroy businesses what a joke

    ReplyDelete

  24. In Orlando we had a good meeting rats sniffing around for information good luck with that. We have a dock worker that got his cdl 2years ago has a 5am start time go figure aka the short fat rat Miguel gets driver pay and stays on the dock and doesn't even go out on a run just stays on the dock . Then we have management it's a good thing they don't read the blog lol . It's coming get ready Patrick! We know you don't read the blog. To all drivers looking to transfer come down to Orlando sunny and warm all year you get to steal all the hours you want.

  25. And this is why CEO's love giving themselves big raises and bonuses..
But keep working slaves you sure giving him a good life.

  38. Please forward and share with all immediately! It's time to stand up and rally around our co-worker Tommy Bower.

Attention Trenton and all of XPO Driver's,

In case you didn't know last night the union buster got very aggressive in the meeting, threw his paperwork and books, jumped around the table and got directly into Stan's face. The union buster was inches from Stan's face violating his personal space and proceeded to verbally attack Stan. He did this with Tommy last week and this time when Tommy came out of the meeting he felt sick, he was taken to the hospital and they told him he had suffered a heart attack. This goes to show how desperate the company is trying to keep us from having a voice and voting YES on April 14. Please keep Tommy in your prayers and when we get the room # and visiting hours I will let everyone know.

    Bruce Ryan
PS: Our prayers go out to Stan and his family to that everything will be fine. Amen.

  41. We will be bringing you and update on to the great times and the fun times and what a great place to work in the Miami Terminal is, this terminal practically runs by itself we don't need an operations manager we don't need a terminal manager because thier never around when you need them they're only around when they want to tell you something or to try to bust your ass in something, of course they always blame the drivers but they're inside employees are the ones that are stealing time every day
left and right, right in front of the noses of course they'll tell you they don't know nothing about it and then when you tell them something about it they don't do a fucken thing that's exactly why we need the Union everywhere! So once again I tell you why would you bitch for having the union beingin a terminal when management does whatever the fuck they want to do, so the supervisors you complain to them about a problem and say yeah don't worry about I will take care of it but then in the end we all know that they don't do a fucking thing about it either of course the ones that are causing the problems and conflicts and doing whatever the fuck they want to do and stealing companytime is their own people because they don't want that Union so you know what I tell them, fuck them. Union all the way Miami Teamsters.

  42. Mr Bradley Jacobs is only getting Richer$$$ by the minute PEOPLE! don't you get and then actual question why if he was able to give $0.70 why did he give a dollar I've got the money to give it to you because it's called corporate greed and it will always be corporate greed it's cold or goes like this we give you a penny we keep a dollar we give you a dollar we keep $1,000 so I asked you all why can't we all have a better life in a better future where we're at think about that for a minute signing off Miami Teamsters.

  43. Xpo will not give you the Health Benefits that the Teamsters Union will give you in savings for you and your family Thousands of Dollars$$$ in the End one of the primary Benefits of having a Union also the most important thing " PROTECTION " which right now non of you have, let me ask you how does it feel to come to work and having not to worry about Losing your Job or getting Fired for any stupid reason or for talking back to a Supervisor, that is part of not being an at will employee in a right to work State. Meanwhile we are all at will employees. I REST MY CASE. Miami Teamsters.
