Another Union Victory at XPO Logistics near Philadelphia

XPO Logistics Workers Near Philadelphia Choose Teamster Representation

Drivers at XPO Logistics in suburban Philadelphia voted for Teamster representation today, propelling a nationwide campaign where XPO workers are standing together and forming their union to win fairness and respect on the job. The vote was 37 to 13.
The 52 drivers at the former Con-way Freight join workers in Miami; Laredo, Texas; Vernon, Calif.; Aurora, Ill.; and in North Haven, Conn. who have already voted for Teamster representation.
"Three victories at XPO in less than a month (Aurora, North Haven and King of Prussia) show that the workers are building momentum in their quest for fairness, strength and a real voice at one of the world's largest transportation companies," said Tyson Johnson, Director of the Teamsters Freight Division. "We will continue to stand with XPO workers across the country who demand positive change."
"Despite the company sending in its high-priced union busters, the workers stood strong, boldly and united in their fight for a better future," said Michael Bonaduce, President of Teamsters Local 384 in Norristown, Pa. "Now, the fight for a strong contract begins."
"This is a great day for us and we urge our co-workers across the country to stand bravely to win dignity, respect and fairness by banding together," said Bill Strouse, a road driver and 23-year employee. "We need to have a voice on the job so that management will listen to our concerns."Click to read more

Even senior management laughed at your efforts. You really should consider another line of work. Frankly your not really good at what you do. No wonder Eric left you to run the family business.

  16. Oh yeah ... and to the company who cares so deeply about and is conserned about the ailments of SOME teamsters pension funds. What ever happened to are pension that was so well funded at the time you pulled it from us????

    ReplyDelete
  17. Terren we went into this campaign with near 70% signed cards and ended up with 75 % of the vote. We lost nothing and gained people in the end after your union busting tactics. Your in affective. You gained let me see....0 .... that's ZERO support. All we had to do is sit back and watch you fail ! You when your less than honest people see that. We presented the facts and let the voters decide who was leading them astray.
Where did you go to school ? Who raised you with such vile hate for working men and women rights ?

  19. We need to somehow organize a petition regarding the on board camera, con/xpo is trying to use it to target drivers records to many camera incidents to dirty our records that way they can fire people they deem trouble makers. They are giving points now for camera incidents. We all know how dangerous that camera can be how many times have we blown red lights just so we don't trigger the camera or how we take our eyes of the road to see if we triggered the camera, think how dangerous it is when a new driver taking eye off of what he or she is doing to look at the camera.

We at XPH lost interest in that kind of treatment a long time ago,i should think that others would have also, what are you waiting for??????

    1. Their not trying they want to cut pto time. But right now there holding off because they don't want people to unite. But just wait till people start backing away from the union. They'll cut the pto to 3 week's max they'll be only be giving .5% annual raises (only if the location meets their quota)and have people work 30 hour's. That's their plan. But if people want to trust them .well then just do the same when it was Conway.wait and see.

  32. Get ready to be obsolete unless you have some kind of protection or another skill. Anyone recognize a certain company named in the article?

Uber aims to ultimately transform the competitive and fragmented $700 billion-a-year trucking industry, which is notorious for low margins. The company is challenging a host of established players, ranging from publicly traded companies, such as third-party logistics firms C.H. Robinson and XPO Logistics, to countless mom-and-pop trucking businesses.

  33. I hate to go before we get a union bid, but this vacation thing has me thinking I should go elsewhere. And I've asked before: Is our duly elected president union-friendly?

    1. Just hold on. Don't jump ship yet. Get your self and your co workers some representation and make the workers case even stronger. Give being part of a union a chance. The more united we are the stronger we are. If more location organise the more bargaining power we have against xpo. But we need more of you to start signing union card's and petition for the Union.

They treat you like shit there's favoritism and they just want to take more and more and want you to work harder. There's a reason why drivers and dock workers and even management wanting to leave.. this company is just fucked up right now and it all starts at the top!!!

    1. You are absolutely right, however it all depends on your terminal managers mentality if he's a asshole and he utilizes authority to his advantage that's a problem.keep in mind if your terminal chooses to elect union represention there a good chance you're terminal manager we'll be fired especially if there's been complaints about him.terminal managers are expendable just like drivers.

      Delete
    2. Well at XPN we definitely need a management replacement.. he is one of the most disrespectful managers I've ever have come across. No one in the building like's him Drivers, dockworkers CSR's , FOS's, how someone that is so disliked by everyone can be in charge is unreal we need management replacement at XPN!!!

      Delete
    3. Just wondering. If you have made complains,What has HR done about it? If they've done nothing shouldn't they be fired too? They tell us there's an open door policy but it just seem's to be used to intimidate the workers. So at this point it's not just All level's of Management that need's replacing also HR need's some cleaning.
BUT WE KNOW THAT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. THE GOOD OL BOY SYSTEM IS STILL IN FULL STRENGTH HERE AT CON-WAY.

Its only going to get worse the days of ccx scared tactics are gone you have the law on your side, are you scared they going to fire you let them try, remember you are in a career that is in demand they need you more than you know start organizing now and make the change for the better.

Mr Jacobs made a decision early on to get rid of some key sales reps which resulted on big customers leaving due to him increasing the prices to make up for that decision. People you have to realize that when big manages can't bring that profit in what do you think will happen to them? In the end what will happen to us? Manages can't stand up for long with the demands of Mr Jacobs. ..There will always be changes in management just like they will continue to make the changes with us....cutting out most of our PTO, low raises to NO raises just like they do our beloved CSR'S. Mr Jacobs is all about the $$$$$$.

They attended his wedding, and he is not pursuing any charges against her. These are facts if you do the research, and don't rely on the media. Not that any of this matters because if we get more yes votes than no votes there nothing anyone can do about it. They can fight it but at the end of the day a win is a win.

    9. Yes 96 will be 50% +1 out of 190,but you need to make sure you guys win by a bigger margin to stop company from filing bogus charges against union supporters intimidating non union supporter employees we all know those are false accusations from the company wasting money on high price lawyers just to delay the process to bargain in good faith

He is not building a sub stainable company with us in his interest. We MUST protect what we have before we lose it. Corporate greed has no limits. This is all about standing your ground and demanding acknowledgement for your professionalism as a driver. What is the option? Just stand by and wait for them to share the wealth? If that what your waiting for I think your being foolish. This is not about us vs them . It about saying we work hard and we expect to gain from the fruits of are labor.
