Unions and workers agree XPO Logistics strategy

Twenty-four XPO workers and union representatives from Europe and the United States have developed a joint strategic approach to protect standards for workers and ensure respect for labour rights, in the face of the company’s aggressive merger and acquisitions plans.

  1. Well. I did warn all of you that XPO has an economic plan and that most of us weren't included in that plan. It's obvious it didn't includes the European workers either. But at least some one is seeing the xpo writing on the wall too. I hope the European workers are smarter than the American workers and fight for an economic piece of XPO. Cheap labor doesn't help the workers. it only helps corporations. It make more profits for them..
Oh by the way.Jacobs and Brooks have come up with a very interesting plan for the second Quarter.. You will be seeing some management come around and put everyone at ease. Just so they can start using more contractors. Be ready people.save every penny you make. You'll be needing it. Good luck everyone.

  2. AND THE FIGHT CONTINUES FOR THE 1ST AMENDMENT FOR THE LABOR WORKERS TO HAVE A BETTER LIFE,FUTURE,WITH DIGNITY AND RESPECT, WE SHOULD ALL VOTE AGAINST, FOR A FREE STATE OF UNION IN FLORIDA!!! ( NOT A RIGHT TO WORK STATE ) !!! LIKE THEY DID IN WISCONSIN.
WHEN WILL WE STOP THESE DIRTY POLITICIANS OR THE C.E.O'S OF AMERICA OR THE RICH $$ THAT KEEP TAKING ALL OF OUR HARD WORKING MONEY $$$ IN PAYING OFF WHOEVER THEIR PAYING OFF TO KEEP THIS STATE A ( RIGHT TO WORK STATE ) WE THE PEOPLE ARE DONE !WHY DON'T WE TRY TO TAKE ALL THAT MONEY FROM THE RICH AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS OR TELL THEM THAT THEY DON'T NEED SECURITY OR A CONTRACT OF THEIR JOBS??? ASK THEM HOW THEY WOULD FEEL! UNION ALL THE WAY!!!

  6. Here is another great story about XPO..
If people still think XPO cares about their employees.Well here is example of how Bradley Jacobs wants to run XPO...
And remember people keep the rich dream alive..

Teamsters Local 688 was notified on April 4 that 190 union workers' jobs will be cut when Schnucks' new distribution center in Kinloch opens in July.

Those jobs will be replaced by a third-party logistics provider, Greenwich, Conn.-based XPO Logistics. The nonunion XPO workers' pay will range between $10 and $11 an hour without benefits, according to the union, compared with workers' current pay of $14 to $22 an hour, which comes with benefits.

  10. See what having a union and a contract can do...
benefits and contract provisions such as:

Retirement savings account: On top of pensions, workers also receive BART-funded retirement savings accounts. The annual district contribution for each worker is $1,869 plus 1.63 percent of salary.
Health care coverage: Workers and most retirees receive full family health care coverage for $138 a month, regardless of the number of dependents.
Work week: Train operators, station agents and other members of the Amalgamated Transit Union work only 37.5 hours per week, not 40.
Leave time: BART workers receive up to six weeks paid vacation annually, of which they can cash out a week each year. They receive 12 days of sick leave, and can apply unused portions toward their pension service credit or cash it out. Plus they receive 13 paid holidays.
Annual bonuses: Workers receive $1,000 annual bonuses for each year that ridership exceeds projections by 2 percent.
Strike protections: BART workers may strike after a contract runs out. But the transit agency is effectively prohibited during the contract from training management workers to run the trains.
None of that was changed. Instead, BART officials just increased wages further and tried to declare victory.

  13. In my terminal today, Milwaukee magically had food and a meeting that were doing okay but we can do better. Also had a union video and chat how we have more freedom without unions and we can make our own rules. Also the union was spotted outside taking union cards but I never saw them when I left. Feels like smoke and mirrors. Lots of LOWS

    ReplyDelete
  14. Wisconsin maybe right to work but I think a union would be approved if the union people come back like they were Monday. I heard they were there but never saw.
I'm still skeptical about teamsters but I would be willing to pay dues for a year to see how the culture changes for better or worse

  15. In our meeting, we talked about how central states was union and how they are cutting their pension. If xpo turned union for my terminal in Wisconsin, can we setup our $ to stay with us or would it go into teamsters and not xpo companies?

    ReplyDelete
  16. How are other terminals across the country doing for work, hours, freight? We have been slow in the Milwaukee area, is it an election things? I hear other companies are really busy like old dominion, are they taking our business away?

They will lean on the Central States pension because that's all they have to scare people. The real truth is Wall Street has mis-managed it for the better part of 35 years and ran it into the ground not the union. You are free to choose where your pension is kept. If you already have one the just stay there and beef it up. Food is also a bribe tactic, eat it and move on.

  18. People think of it like this Union is like home insurance you pay but maybe never make claim until the house burns down well same goes for an employer that fires an employee for unjust reasons only you have no insurance backing you

  19. Remember one thing people.. Everything that Conway/XPO tells you about having a union is bull shit. Just like their bull shit policies and core values.
They push all that bullshit about treating people fair and with respect and you all see how management treats us.. With No repect or value. But every meeting they start with is a bull ass shit lie.. We care and value you.. Really i guess that's why the company has such a high turn over.. Upper management should really start cracking down on this worthless managers and get people in there who will actually promote team work and good work values.
MR.BRADLEY. you seem to like contracts. Why don't you make XPO a union company and get a contract going with all your employees??? What are you afraid of? XPO might just become the best company in the trucking industry. Let's unite and set standards and not follow standards.. MR.BRADLEY DON'T BE AFRAID..Get away from the Conway slave mentality..

XPO plans to put the former Con-way Freight's outsourced linehaul work up for bid for the first time in years, part of a broader plan to seek greater savings in its logistics and transportation businesses, chairman and CEO Bradley S. Jacobs said in a Meeting.

  29. Union organizing is going on at Milwau keep today, 2 more teamsters at the gate, second time in 2 weeks. I agree a union would benefit me at this company seeing it's so large. My question is will all my money from dues to pension go into milwaukee terminal xpo or would it go to fulfill the draining funds of previous retirees pension plans?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Our pension money will stay with us if we make sure it's in the contract... UPS has there contract set up so all there money stays with them, and the Union can't use it on other outside pensions! One of the many reasons why UPS is a big success

      Delete
  30. Your dues money does not go into any pension or political fund other then the pension a local elected official would get. The dues pay for the day to day operation of your local. Building rental or mortgage, salaries, legal, utilities, etc.. Any negotiated pension would be paid for by XPO. Sounds like someone is using Central States Fund as a scare tactic on you all. This is a common thread during a organizing campaign.

    ReplyDelete
  31. when ups freight former overnite joined the teamsters they did not go into the pension fund that abf, yrc, carhaul is in ups freight and package are set up as a single employer pension fund. conway/xpo would decide in contract which way to go with theirs and it would be voted on by the workers. so do not listen to all the misinfomation because it is wrong.good luck men.

  34. XPO EUROPE GOES ON STRIKE..4/28/16
    Strikes break out
Since the middle of March there has been an explosion of local strikes, at the same time as the movement of school and university students continues to fuel anger at the pro-rich policies of the government.
Militancy is spreading and deepening. Strikes are breaking out over wages and working conditions (at Campanile at the Eiffel Tower, various McDonald’s restaurants, engineering and public transport). Determined strikes, some of them lengthy, are spreading, such as Calcia Cement, XPO logistics, Lisi-Creuzet engineering, postal workers, school staff, social care, TCAR public transport in Rouen.
In practice, this is the dynamics of a mass strike, in which the El Khomri law is unanimously rejected and where other demands are brought forward to reinforce and support the overall struggle.
But what is still missing is a lever, and a truly democratic leadership for a much broader struggle, even in the local strikes. The inter-union coordination does not fulfil this role and there are not many workers’ assemblies. And so the debate about moving towards a general strike, and the fight for it, still mainly take place within the trade unions themselves or in workplaces which are on strike.
