Teamsters
America's Strongest Union
Con-way Freight, Inc. violated the rights of workers who were trying to form their union with the Teamsters and must re-hire two workers it unlawfully fired during the organizing campaign, among other remedies, an administrative law judge with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has ruled.
“By instructing employees not to wear union insignia, threatening employees for supporting the Union, filing criminal charges against an employee, suspending employees, and terminating employees because they supported the Union, the Respondent has engaged in unfair labor practices…,” Administrative Judge Eleanor Laws wrote in her decision.
The workers at Con-way’s Los Angeles terminal were trying to join Local 63. The company must cease its illegal activities, reinstate the two fired workers and pay them back wages and benefits, and take other steps.
Bottom line, these two brothers didn't do a damn thing wrong, but only try to form a union.
ReplyDeleteAnd what did Conway do, retaliated on them for exercising their rights to form a union.
This two brothers stood for their Rights to better the work conditions, to stop the abusiveness of cruel management.
To also improve the fringe benefits, by lowering medical benefit or having free medical paid by corporate...remember you're the backbone of the company's growth and it's fair that Conway/XPO pay for your health insurance so you can continue growing the company.
What else they were trying to improve? Your pension plan, we all deserve to retire with a decent pension so we can live comfortably on a steady check, the American Dream of living our golden years without worries.
And last is a collective bargaining agreement, not a lousy company policy book that will eventually change for the company own gain, get away from being an at will employee, become a Just Cause employee.
Congratulations brothers on fighting the unfair labor practice that Conway cause you to lose your hard earned years, and now you're aligned back to place.
Just to inform everyone out there to take away all your Doubts don't worry about what everyone is saying or the company is telling you or the Union Busters their full of Shit and Lies, Miami has been in Collective Bargaining for 9 months and move forward with Negotiations slowly but surely it is what it is until the FUCKING END! ReplyDeleteWHO'S UP NEXT FOR FILING THOSE PETITIONS?
ReplyDeleteRed flags already! there is a meeting in St. Louis next week with Brad Jacobs and terminal managers. If your manager still has his job after next week were all doomed! Take notice people
ReplyDeleteGuys wake up! Line haul is gone. Independent contractors have a crap deal, but when offered your line haul run they will look at that as a better deal, because it will be drop and hook straight dedicated runs and home daily, AND... They will make a little more than they do now, BUT less than you. There for saving the company money, AND the company won't have to pay for fuel, trucks, insurance, exct.... Also they will hire all dock workers to do dock work. The only drivers they will need are P and D drivers, and sense there will be a surplus from all line haul drivers losing there runs they can pay a crap wage, and they will find enough desperate drivers to do it, and the dream will be OVER!!!
ReplyDeleteGuys honestly put your self in Brad Jacobs shoes wouldn't you do that if you could! You could do that and save money and it would work. Our only way to save our dream is to go union and not let that happen or start over!
ReplyDeleteLook at how they are getting on us about dwell time to long at pickups or deliveries about motor moves, all these things mean one thing they are trying to build a record on us of bad performance so they can terminate people for bad records and not have to pay unemployment benefits, this way they can replace us with contractors. People we have go union it's the only way to fight these big corporations WE DRIVERS AND DOC WORKERS HAVE TO UNITE IN ORDER TO SAVE OUR PAY AND JOBS!!
ReplyDeleteYes now!! Especially in USB just look at mike corbell how aggressive he has been lately wake up look around union yes
ReplyDeleteHAS ANYONE FILED ANY PETITIONS
ReplyDeleteNo but we're working on some terminals
DeleteWell in Laredo Texas they are starting to clean house in the office to many people xpo says to many supervisors so hold on Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas get in line in the unemployment line it's Black Friday for you guys
ReplyDeleteWell at least you union drivers are protected. XPO can get rid of management for starters but then it will come down to us. And i so hope they start cutting Line haul. That way XPO can make the profits they need to be a strong competitor in the Logistics business...
DeleteHave a Happy Thanksgiving Everyone @ Xpo Logistics.
ReplyDeletePart #1
Hear we go again Another Hippocratic, Sarcastic Verbal
Bullshit from Management, that one thing has nothing to do with the other, Management at MIA/NMF States that the Reason that they didn't give us Thanksgiving lunch was because the lack of Revenue and no Reserve$$$ from the Company's Expense out of all the available balance of money that they had for the cost of the Company's Picnic, and that since half of the employees did not go to the picnic that's probably why their mad and didn't buy us Thanksgiving lunch? I mean ask yourself why would you go to a company's picnic when you have so much Hypocrisum, Favoritism, Discrimination and Dividance against Employees, so ask yourself why would you go to that company picnic. Only people without any Dignity or Scruples would actually go, and here's a better one the terminals that didn't have a company picnic got their Thanksgiving lunch, BULLSHIT! That's what Management here @ NMF is saying.
You know what people they can shove it up their Fucken Asses!
Oh by the way the Employee's in the office had their Thanksgiving lunch oh yeah who knows it could have been The Subcontractors PGA, it could have been The Terminal Manager or who knows the Company Maybe? That bought their Thanksgiving lunch WTF?! GO FIGURE.
Part #2
And and here's another good story @ NMF/MIAMI, you come to Management or your Supervisor or Operations Managers to ask them why would that Supervisor do something wrong, like the Inbound fork-lift drviers load up that way they do witch is wrong and the Answer you get is and I Quote (WHY DON'T YOU ASK THEM YOURSELF ) Or you get this Answer, and I Quote (THAT'S NOT MY FAULT OR PROBLEM )! I mean what kind of Unprofessional Answer is that from your Management personal, know what people that's why These things happen at your Terminals because of a Response Anger Management with Ignorants and Hate. Well I think their is 1 to many Supervisors or Operations in NMF/MIA today, but it's just a matter of time thats all until XPO comes cutting through. Good night and have a Happy Thanksgiving to all.
Good morning my fellow co-workers just so all of you around the region know, MIA/NMF is still up with a high racial of % of Operation and still holding strong well as far as Manipulation of the numbers well you can all see, in all the year's I've been here this has never happen. But as far as " INTEGRITY " is Concern it is down the drain when last year 1 of our DSR had 2 Accidents and Tardiness a bunch of times and still got employee of the year now if that's not Manipulation of the numbers or the System?? then I don't know what it is, and that's why my friends we are still in the same situation that we are but better now with Respect Dignity and Integrity.
ReplyDeleteThank you to the representation of the Union.
Whats the purpose of Region managers and DOO's anyways??? They don't do shit for the money they make! Even HR people. Just wasste of money. I can tell you They should fire Dave Warta for the nonsense he pulls and the big lies he tells us. No one trusts what he says. Our region is screwed because of him.
ReplyDeleteFREIGHT SHIPPING COMPANIES AND LOGISTICS COMPANIES: WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ASSET BASED AND NON-ASSET BASED?
ReplyDelete07-02-2014 Author: Kellie Morgan
truckload AND ltl provider; asset based trucking companies; equipment shipping companies; non asset based logistics companies; shipping logistics definition
An asset based carrier is a company – like a trucking company, LTL carrier or railroad carrier – who has their own equipment and works directly with customers like you to move your freight. Conversely, freight brokers and 3PLs, like XPO Logistics, are non-asset based companies. We have no equipment and simply act as the middle man between the asset-based carriers and customers like you, in order to arrange the shipment of your freight.
The debate about which kind of provider is “better” – asset based or non-asset based – has been ongoing for years. Some argue that they’ll only work with asset based carriers, others swear by sourcing everything to a single 3PL, and a good amount of companies work with a mix of both kinds of providers. When you’re trying to decide which type of provider is a good fit for your business, weighing the pros and cons can be difficult when you haven’t had the experience of working with both.
There are four major areas where working with a non-asset based 3PL, like Trinity, is beneficial:
"Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to the all.

ReplyDeleteTREATING WORKERS RIGHT PAYS OFF: "Paying good wages is not charity at all—it is the best kind of business." — Henry Ford
WORKERS MUST REMEMBER & LEARN LABOR HISTORY: "Workers built unions, and unions built the Middle Class. Labor's day is over if workers lose touch with their legacy. And if Big Labor dies, then the greatest invention of the 20th century—The Middle Class—dies with it." — New Jersey Star-Ledger Editorial Board
ReplyDeleteREALITY: "For generations, the unions took the poor and made them middle class, and then championed the middle class and made it mighty. Organized labor institutionalized norms of equity, and fought for fair pay, health benefits, safer conditions, eight-hour days, weekends, and so much more we take for granted. In an age when corporate profits are soaring and the middle class is struggling, there is clear evidence that the depletion of unions has been a factor in wage stagnation and in a U.S. income gap that is larger than that of any other industrialized nation." — New Jersey Star-Ledger Editorial Board
Changes at xsd East Brunswick, NJ. 3 dock workers laid off, right before the Holiday.
ReplyDeleteNo more bagels on Tues. morning. Coffee machines going and no more paper towels. What's next? Bring your own toilet paper??
What happened to no changes for a year?
Oh wait! Maybe they are making these cutbacks to give us a well deserved pay raise.
All you terminals out there better get your asses ready because it's coming specially Management BIG CUTS! Get ready for the Demolition of XPO LOGISTICS! !! C-YA AND I WOULDN'T WANT TO B-YA!!!
DeleteThat's the way to do it Boy's the Employee's have the Right to know the Truth about the Lies, the Bullshit, the Manipulation, the Buying Time, the Stretching of all the Hearings in Court, Appling Every Single Indictment, lying about all their Accusations, but my dear Coworkers friends in The End , THE TRUTH WILL ALWAYS AND I MEAN ALWAYS WILL COME OUT ! I REST MY CASE.
ReplyDeleteI want someone out there to tell me what is the differences is between Con-way freight and Xpo Logistics??
ReplyDeleteSure one was an LTL the other is,
Logistics, we all know that, but what's the Real Reason, the Reason is that both of them are out to make money! $$$ So why would any of these Companies give a Shit about you or what is going on in a work place or getting of you if they have to. As long as their Management Team Operates in a Favoritism Dividance Overruling Seniority, because they feel the FUCK like it Attitude?! there will always be Discrimination at all of the Terminals. I mean it's simple, ask the Employee's with higher Seniority if they want to do the kind of work the company is asking them to do and if those Seniority personal are not Interested, then the Right thing to do by the Company or Supervisors is appoint someone to their Favor for the Duty, but it will never happen as long as there is Favoritism! That's why XPO LOGISTICS needs to Clean house with there Management and Supervisors. And if not well, IT WILL ALWAYS BE THE SAME SHIT ALWAYS & THE BATTLE AND WAR WILL CONTINUE UNTIL IT ENDS. and then they could come in an get rid of their Management team and Supervisors and clean house Completely because there Management team and Supervisors were the one's that drew FIRST BLOOD, and that's why all this Fucken Mess is Happening right now and will Continue to do so.
WE CANNOT CHANGE ANYTHING UNLESS WE CHANGE IT TOGETHER!
Soon brother soon !!
ReplyDeleteDid Paul Styers use to be a driver?
ReplyDeleteYes, he was a bad driver that's probably why he went into managementm. He had three accidents in 1 week but now he promotes safety like he's an expert
DeleteBeginning Monday all locations will here some sad story of how they are not doing well, the truth is they plan on laying off people to recover 4 million dollars that they say they lost during the purchase, you will also hear that the will reduce or eliminate lean as well as the current VVT which does projects for employees and local loxations. They will start off by saying no way is this going great away this is just a minor set back. They will also eliminate the yearly bonus program and place a new one on the line that goes lime this, based on your individual production is how you will be evaluated and given a bonus, so some of you will receive a bonus and some will not based on your production. The heat is on all manager's now and you will see a new harsher way they will attack, don't believe them they are in it to force you to work like no one else in the industry and they will reap the benefits from your sweat. Listen and ask questions Monday guys, find out the truth now. Also, the meeting all managers just came from, this is what was told to them, either the manager's get on track and they will be replaced, so the manager's will be attacking the staff they currently have.
ReplyDeleteJust like VVT it is Such a waste of time and Money$$$ the employees go in for an hour trying to Solve Management's Dilemma in how to run their Terminals if you ask your drivers or your personnel how to run your terminal then my friends that means that your management team doesn't know a damn thing about what the hell they're doing
ReplyDeletein their places, although they ask the Employee's opinions they end up doing or implementing something totally different to say we thought of that this, this is what we want you to do. So VVT IS A WASTE OF MONEY $$$ AND TIME!
If you really want to Save$$$ & Time, When you Punch in Kronos Your bills should be ready with your handheld so can start your Production for the day not have a Meeting Every day like they have one in Miami, just to
give them Time because your manifest hasn't been printed out yet, or if it has be printed sometimes you'll find that your Trailer hasn't been finished being loaded yet of course we all know that their CHEATING THE SYSTEM! SO THEIR ##'S LOOK GOOD BUT HEY WHO GIVES A FUCK ANYWAYS RIGHT the Inbound Supervisors don't give a Shit all they give a Shit is about loading all the Freight inside the Trailers, and That's the way you do Business Not giving a SHIT! !!
Guy's Guys do not argue about white and blue don't argue about lean, what all of you need to worry about is your Future with XPO LOGISTICS, don't wait for a Miracle to Happen it won't especially from XPO. When all of you decide what you want and what you need in your future I will tell it won't be with XPO LOGISTICS it will be with another Company, wait and see if you will be here long enough to Witness it, good luck everyone.
ReplyDeleteWhen most of you are Fired or gone then all of you will say, DAMN I WISH I HAD VOTED FOR REPRESENTATION TO HAVE RIGHTS, THE UNION. Hey people do us a favor ask your Terminal Managers how does it feel to be Protected, YESSSSS A CONTRACT!
All your Terminal Managers and top Executives have a Binding
Contract Yes We Rest our Fucken Case!
