Local 722 Secures Reinstatement For Member After Wrongful Termination

Back Pay, Full Benefits Secured In Arbitration
In a recent arbitration, reinstatement and back pay were secured for a Teamster who was wrongfully terminated from Bay Valley Foods in Dixon, Illinois. The Teamster is returning to work with more than $79,000 in owed wages and full benefits thanks to the efforts of Local 722 President and Principal Officer Steve Mongan.
In the award, the arbitrator concluded that “no just cause for any discipline was proven.”
“It was justified in getting an improper termination rescinded and making this worker whole. It was so wrong what Bay Valley Foods did and how they did it, she wasn’t deserving of anything like this,” Mongan said. “I’m glad that the arbitrator saw through the smokescreen and ordered her back to work with all rights restored.”
Local 722 -located in La Salle, Illinois- has won all nine of the grievances it took to arbitration in 2016, Mongan reported. This was the third and final arbitration at Bay Valley Foods in 2016.

  4. This is an example why we need the union and how the union fought for all of us.

  5. We the employees are the union. Don't believe the bullshit management and union busters will tell you about the union being a third party between Xpo and us.

  6. How about everybody just take a week off and send them a strongly worded letter to each terminal about what is wrong

  9. Just curious how many terminals didn't get a bonus?

    1. I'm hearing 86 terminals not getting a bonus, and a lot of other terminals like XPN are getting very very small ones. So basically no bonus, and no raise, and increasing health care cost, and they want to take your PTO time away if you separate from the company... Oh and how's your 401k working out for you. So for all those suckers who thought XPO would make things better than Conway you must of meant better for management not drivers Right?????

    2. does corporate get bonuses? i feel they r keeping say 10 mil for themselves in bonuses for these 86 terminals

  14. At Xpn they make the dsr flex workers paint the office and let the new inexperience dock workers break the evening outbound freight and they cant figure out why there on-time percentage to the reships sucks.

  15. Just in case some you don't know but management did get bonuses before Christmas. I was told they got bonuses from 25k and up. It's funny how last year they showed us a video with top management in it saying they would have more communication. So yeah they communicated that our PTO is screwed up our Medical went up and Company Policy is what ever they make it when ever they make it. What other communication had anyone seen? Then from what I'm seeing is that they're sending out sell out on company time and pay ,to tell people not to vote for the Union. But this people are sure making money of this company strategy. By taking it from the rest of us. But if some of you don't mind being screwed over by the company and the sell out's then just tell your management or HR you like working for peanut..

  17. More painting to do at XPN... No driving work for drivers. why the hell did I get a CDL if all there going to do is have us paint! Our volume is down there's hardly any work, but there hiring dock workers like crazy while drivers sit at home till 3 then we come in and paint! This company is fucked up!!

    1. i see some things haven't changed. they basically push u to the side til it's busy again, i suggest asking to be in early to paint then work the dock after

  21. With trump presidency and his appointments to the labor department we are really going to be fucked this is why they management feels they can treat us any why they want. Think about it just before the election management was scared because they thought the democrates where going to win the day after trump won I know u all saw these cowards walking around with there chests out. What this administration is going to do to the labor laws not even unions will help. The only thing that will tell these rich mother fuckers if we the workers stick together and threaten a company walk so if you people think you can organize something like that, otherwise hope is lost

  22. Think about what we the drivers mean to this company, conway drivers load and break freight, when freight is damaged we recoup it,we deliver the freight, we pick the freight we dispatch our selfs we do the paper work on the freight what I'm mean is we do it all for this company and yet they get the bonus and we get shit treatment. We the drivers have to come together and fight against this treatment management makes no money for this company we do! You could say management cost the company money by there mismanagement. We have to somehow get the share holders of this company to know the way we are treated is going to cost them money. That's the only way they will listen,is when it effects their pockets!

  23. If you guys up there want information about union ask anybody from UPS,UPS FREIGHT,YRC ABF,just ask them how to join the union, the benefits and no benefits, don't be afraid to ask them, for sure they give you good advice and you will see the only fear is in your brain, then you find out we deserve better.

  25. Sorry XPN T.m. Mike don't care about you drivers, just keeping his car clean and trying to keep his numbers, and we all see how that's going, looks like this place has turned into a perfect formula for failure ,angry drivers and dockworkers, lazy fos's that don't seem to care about customers and dont want to work for him and the only thing they do care about is when they can leave , and the worst part is dealing with unhappy or disappearing customers, but hey we can just keep using that excuse it's the slow time of the year, but it's only been down hill ever since he started running things, just keep your heads high boys and maybee next week we will get a slide show on how great things are.

    1. XPN is exactly what XPO is trying to do to the whole company. They tell there drivers there not guaranteed 8 hours anymore, they also tell drivers if you want hours you have to paint. Mike has absolutely no respect for drivers. He walks around the terminal with a silly grin on his face telling everyone the numbers are great! All the while we lose freight to other carriers and the drivers are the ones who have to take less.

  26. XWC Don't be disappointed you made a statement.

  27. XPN is one of the worst places to be. Mike is the worst manager I've ever worked for. How a 30 year old kid got to be manager of large terminal is reckless. This place has gotten so bad

Yeah USB Foms are telling everyone that Ulx has to pay dues with out a conect being made... no dues are being pAid & this is just a perfect example of the brainwashing management at Xpo if you call them on it then they want to know who you info. Is coming for. The carriot hanging over with is so called bonuses is laughable& it's not clear when n how much "we r going to got" they can go fuckem self with there un union talking n yr 1/2 later bonus check

  31. In response to Xpn and their terminal manager start a petition of all your complaints against him get lots of drivers to sign it and send it to board members complaint department and maybe that might move management to do something

    ReplyDelete
  32. All of us drivers should start a signed petition on why we are not getting a bonus and if we are not getting one management or anyone throughout the company should not get one!!

    ReplyDelete

    1. Or everyone call in sick for one day and watch the place go into chaos

  33. Non of the terminals that voted in favor for union representation is paying any union fee until we agree to the contract being negotiated and we sign that contract will start paying union fees or union dues.if you believe all the lies management is telling you that's on you for being afraid and ignorant as management is to inform yourself about how we "the employees "will benefit as a union company.
Think about your retirement, think about your future, don't let corporate crooks dictate your future.

    ReplyDelete
  34. XPN I agree with the other comment you need to send a signed letter to the board of directors with as many signatures you can get! Naming each and every one of your complaints about your T.M. That will get them to make changes especially when there trying to keep the union out...

  35. How come company issued automobiles to management do not have drivecams? I thought safety is top priority

    ReplyDelete
  36. Come on guys really you like to get fuck like this. Without respect,we have dignity and don't let anyone be disrespectful to us,united we are the union, just think about it

    ReplyDelete
  37. All of you people who think that by writing a letter to the Board member's is going to be change things. You're just wasting your time and effort. The board members the shareholders all they care about is their bank account.
As long as they don't have to negotiate with a representative for the workers and the workers keep working for less and less it won't matter to them how many letters you sent to them.
So you guys keep on Dreamin that these people care about you. I read somewhere on here. Jacob said this company is not a charity we're here to make money.
And that's what he's doing he's making money by cutting and not giving.
So unless you're willing to get representation just show up to work do what they tell you, how they tell you and for how long they tell you.
And don't expect anything from the company because they're not a charity and they're not going to give you anything more than they have to.

    ReplyDelete
  38. To Jacob were here to make money also. So if all the drivers sign a letter asking for respect and better pay and benefits and see these petition to Wall Street and to corporate and to the share holders you don't think that little piece of shit won't bend. You right there we the people are the power we just don't realize it because they have divided us if we stand together there is nothing we ask from them that they won't give us,they know we bring in the money just like a pimp knows the hooker brings in his

  44. Don't you people see what's happening? The union is stopping the union drive, because who won the election he is going to dismantle the labor for and make it corporate friendly we will slowly loose our labor rights believe me the unions know this and they are getting ready for big fights just to protect the unions shops they do have. Look at the people he's appointing to head the labor department he's against union he's for right to work he's against minimum wages and he thinks that corporations be free to pay there workers what they want. He's basically been put there to dismantle the labor board.
