  8. Linehauler here, prefer to remain anonymous. I heard that Milwaukee,WI XML is taking steps for voting in a union.
What are the monthly and yearly dues?

I'm excited to hear how it works for them if they vote yes

    1. How much are initiation fees?
There are no fees to newly formed or organized union.
XPO would fall under this. Union dues are 2 ½ of our Hourly wage.
For example top of scale drivers Making $24 per hour their Union dues Would be $60/month.
We won't pay union dues until we negotiate and agree to sign a contract, Miami is under contract negotiations and will not pay Union dues until they agree to sign a collective bargaining agreement same for LLA Laredo,tx and ULX downtown Los Angeles,ca

Also Union memebers get alot of out of the job benefits... Ask your Union rep what all the benefits you get from being a Union member.. One benefit i like is getting a discount of 12% of my car insurance just because i belong to a union. Stuff like that makes it worth being a Union member.

  12. The Reality of Conway's Termination Policy

    711—Termination of Employment
    Policy Number: 711
    I) Purpose & Scope
To state the company's policy regarding termination of employment. This policy applies to all
    employees of Con-way Freight (CWF).
    II) Policy
Employees are expected to conduct themselves in such a way that termination of their
employment is neither requested nor necessitated. The term of any employment is necessarily
indefinite and at will. Employees are free to leave at any time, for any reason or cause, with or without notice, just as CWF is free to terminate an employee's employment at any time, for any reason, with or without cause, and with or without notice.

    ReplyDelete
  14. One and a half hour of overtime will pay union dues for a month.

  17. The first thing you will get is a half hour to hook your set that's one hour a day extra 5 hours a week 20 hours a month witch is 420.00 dollars a month extra for Linehaul and day lanes that right there pays your union dues for almost a year of union dues. And it just gets better with have union representation!

    ReplyDelete
  20. You are paying $200 a week in dues to stay out of a union right now people. You read that right. Union workers on average make $200 more per week then non union. The company keeps that $200 from you because there is no contract saying they have to give you those increased benefits. FedEx drivers have set up a site to assist their workers but you are welcome to come ask questions or participate in discussions. This is a pro union only site and anti union drivers are not welcome. You can PM the pro union FedEx facebook pages for the web site.

  31. Here is a posting from a conversation by employees...Maybe this will answer some of your questions..
I was in Joplin when Jacobs stood in front of a room full of truckload drivers and office staff, and said things like "I don't know if I'm going to sell truckload or not."; "Rail is an excellent method of transport."; and generally supporting driverless trucks. (I specifically asked about using the truckload division to move some of the freight that comes across the border at Laredo TX in XPO containers (Pacer Stacktrain)). I left when I realized this 'Town hall' meeting was premature and negative in nature. (Jacobs didn't even know that Con-way doesn't have any flatbed trailers.)
It make me sick because I really loved this job. Never in a million years would I have actually chosen to work for XPO. Now I'll probably be fired.

  32. Part#2 of comments..
I didn't listen to the entire call, since he wasn't saying anything I needed to hear. I'm almost certain he'll dump us. My only fear is that he'll sell us to Celadon, where I just came from. I think it'll happen in April because all Truckload drivers have been promised a $1k "loyalty" bonus by then end of April. As I told my dispatcher, it's really severance pay.

  33. So I've seen comments made similar to this in other conversation. But it also includes Line haul..Doesn't anyone wonder why the P&D drivers got new stuff and no one else got anything???
We why spend money on something they don't want to keep around...
Just to let all know XPO has management making out new contracts with vendors they should be taking effect by next month. The wave of changes is about to start.. And most of you are still sucking on Conways Tit... That tit is about to be taken away or go dry....

  46. By Joining The Teamsters Union We Will Ensure Fairness and Respect On Our Jobs

Working people from all walks of life are joining together in unions to obtain a voice at work. Union members have a say about their pay, benefits, working conditions and how their jobs get done. A wider range of people than ever before, including many women and immigrants, are joining unions for example, security officers, police officers, firefighters, lawyers, doctors and nurses, poultry workers and graduate employees, home health care aides, wireless communications workers, auto parts workers and engineers, to name a few.

Through our union, we will have the right to impact our wages, work hours, benefits, health and safety and other work-related issues at Con-way/Xpo logistics. Under United States law, as workers, we have the right to form and join a union. One of the key reasons why we are organizing at Con-way/Xpo logistics, is to have support from The Teamsters Union to ensure Job Security, Fairness and Respect on our jobs.

All of the benefits and protections workers enjoy today came about as a result of the organized labor movement in this country. These include the minimum wage, social security payments, an eight hour day and weekends, overtime pay, the American with Disabilities Act and the Occupational Safety and Health Act which requires employers likeCon-way/Xpo logistics, to meet safety standards for their employees.

Why do we need a union at Con-way/Xpo logistics?

Primarily, to have a voice on our jobs. Unless we are organized,Con-way/Xpo logistics is free to take advantage of us. Remember, union members earn better wages and benefits than workers who aren’t represented by a union.
Once we win union representation, "YES WE WILL" negotiate a contract with Con-way/Xpo logistics that spells out each party’s rights and responsibilities on our jobs.

Unions have made life better for all working Americans by passing laws ending child labor, establishing the eight-hour day, protecting workers’ safety and health and helping create Social Security, unemployment insurance and the minimum wage. The Labor Movement is continuing the fight today to improve life for all working families in America.

Today, millions of workers want to join unions, but most employers like Con-way/Xpo logistics, Fed-Ex and others will fight employees efforts to come together by intimidating, harassing and threatening them. If you do not have a union at your center, find out more about how to form and join one. Contact your local Teamster representative for more information. All calls are strictly confidential. Remember, there is no initiation fee and no one pays one penny in dues until a contract is agreed upon by the union workers.

Today, more people are taking the step to form unions on the job than at any time in recent history. You and I can be one of them!

THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS WHY WE WENT UNION. So until you can fix your Management personal the Conflicts Favoritism, Discrimination and certain personal Privileges that keep occuring IN NMF/MIA SIR, THE GAMES WILL BE OR REMAIN THE SAME so you can really see it really wasn't the Employee's FAULT we rest our case.
