    1. Day 1 at NOF Management:
      WERE DISSAPOINTED!
How about that, you mean the same level of DISSAPOINTMENT we had when they stole away our pension or was it more like the dissapointment of being treated like you live in another country just not a southern location where they don't have to pay overtime or maybe the DISSAPOINTMENT of loosing our sick time.
We're so sorry to DISSAPOINT you for wanting better or fair market wages you bunch of sleaze balls. How can you look at yourselves and family in the face when you know your morally bankrupt!!!!

    3. hey nof assistant terminal manager. did you know your dispatcher mr. plew was not happy about your arrival, for he thought it was him that should have received that position as a promotion. he was very disappointed when he didn't get it. that moment marked a very noticeable change in the way mr. plew conducted himself at work. he became very disrespectful to drivers. I guess he felt betrayed and was heard saying how much more qualified he was then you. you guys in management better tidy up your house we hear those men over there in orlando are gearing up for a battle. one ntp is ready join

  2. Good job Orlando here in Laredo you guys have all are support in this campaign and thanks for making this campaign a stronger one, we all know this is a national campaign. This is something Laredo started and we hope to see the domino effect this coming 2015. One more time thank you for all your support.

  3. Hoping Miami, buffalo, and Orlando can get that union ball rolling again! Merry Christmas Greg!

  4. What a freaken surprise. I bet Numbskull did not see this coming. A few wins for ConJob had talk from management that this drive was over. If only they knew the plan for 2015. Orlando just put thousands of smiles on employees faces. VOTE YES FOR WORKERS RIGHTS XML

    ReplyDelete
  5. Merry Christmas! Doug, Greg, Tim, all the other tyrants. You pushed too hard and this is what you get in return. Remember Tim OT is only $100 a week. Mere chump change for high roller corporate scumbag like yourself, but for us that buys food for our families, helps put our kids through college you know the stuff that was spoonfed to all of you so called elites. Even President Obama who I'm sure none of you voted for, said in a recent speech. "The concept of overtime is a simple one. If you work more, you should get paid more." We are tired of you treating us like low lifes down here. We do the same exact work as every other Conway DSR. Equal pay for equal work. We are tired of your lame excuses for your ridiculous insurance. UPS, YRC, ABF, they give their employees top notch health insurance. They DON'T use obamacare as an excuse to take advantage of their employees. We are tired of your supervisors and managers having no accountability for the way they mistreat employees throughout this company. Abe Fecht should have been walked out. Steve Solis should be walked out for his recent behavior. But you continue to put these unfit people in charge and then you protect them. Greg imagine if all your millions and your safety net were gone and you had to actually go to work and punch a clock for your family to survive. And Greg if you missed just one week of work you would be in jeapordy of losing your home and protection for your family. That would be pretty stressful you think. Now imagine that you go to work and your supervisor decides he doesn't like you very much. Could be for any little ridiculous reason, you wipe with the left and he wipes with the right or whatever. Your supervisor decides you don't need hours anymore and cuts you back. Now Greg your family gets to eat mac and cheese every night. So Greg you swallow that pride and you do your very best to kiss this supervisors ass, but nothing works and he just doesn't like you. You try to go up the chain of command but your words land on deaf ears. Next thing you know write up's start coming for all sorts of things. You're walking on egg shells everyday because everything you do at work is under surveillance. Greg you are miserable, your family is miserable. Only two outcomes for you in this story Greg. 1 you eventually get fired by supervisor or you quit because you can't handle the misery. This shit happens every fucking day in this company, under your watch. We want job security!! We want a contract!! Send your best BUSTERS down here! Burn that profit that you supposedly don't have! Stoke our flames there is no turning back now. We are the majority and our commitment to each other is stronger than steel!

  7. The give us a meeting this morning. W. Greg. He say he had no idea what was going on in miami, w the terminal manager,i ask this, how about the other terminals ,why they not say in the meeting ,the orlando file a petition, stop the lies, and the bullshit ,we truck drvers , not stupids, vote yes. Miami,

    ReplyDelete
  8. Greg all the money you making , and you dont' know whats going on in all the terminals. Is time for the company to replace you, vote yes miami

    ReplyDelete
  9. When will the vote start for UBF ??

    ReplyDelete
  10. If you guys need to recorder something just tell us we have a really good camera man here in LAREDO and I think Greg his going to paid the Bill's like hi pay union busters and lawyers

    ReplyDelete
  11. Miami, Buffalo and Orlando...
Keep your head in the game. The union busters and Numbskull are playing a game of smoke and mirrors.
This is not about the lies the hype the bullshit they are telling you.
    Its aboout...

    1. WAGE THEFT..
we get paid for drug screens (at least now we do), but its policy that paperwork is on our time, bullshit. Paperwork is a DOT requirement just like drug screens, Conway is stealing our money.
    2. MEDICAL...
do you know anyone on welfare? well medicade is better than anything we have, and its only going to get worse
    3. PTO...
we have earned the right to real vacation, at 1/365 of the last 12 months earnings per day, not 8 hours. This bastardized idea of using 12 hours PTO only takes away from our families by reducing available time off in the future
    4. RESPECT...
we are not children, but the Conway treats us like children, we have no say, the open door policy is a joke. when Conway needs money they reach into our pockets, numbskull and stallon make the UNILATERAL decision to rob us, and our choice is to bend over and take it dry, or quit and look else ware for a job
    5. OVERTIME...
dismissing senior drivers and retaining part time dockworkers must stop, not paying OT until after 50 or 55 hours must stop. we made Conway what it is by our blood and sweat (quite literally) and when it comes time for us to reap the benefits of our labors we are told to go fuck off
    6. JOB SECURITY...THIRD PARTY SCABS...
all the third party carriers moving our freight such as CR England for example, need to be stopped, its our freight we should be moving it
    7. JOB SECURITY...TERMINATION...
weather you live in a "right to work" or an "employ at will" state, you can be terminated at any time for any or no reason
    8. WAGES...
when con-job took 4% away 5 years ago because of the economy, we never got it back, they will argue we received the equivalent and more in subsequent raises, but we still never got that 4% back
    9. RETIREMENT...
Conway killed the pension, Conway killed the 401K match, and when they brought it back it was half the original match amount, and for new drivers it was nothing again numbskull and stallon make the UNILATERAL decision to rob us, and our choice is to bend over and take it dry, or quit and look else ware for a job

There is more items I could list here, but I don't want to make this a run on post.

MIAMI, BUFFALO, ORLANDO...KEEP YOUR HEAD IN THE GAME

not only is Conway watching us, the entire nation is watching us, Fed Ex, Estes, R&L, YRC ..numbskull got a few cheap victories with fear, bullshit, lies and intimidation. Well its time to step up and show the ENTIRE NATION we are not pussies, and we will not take this abuse from Conway any more, we will stand united, we will be strong, and we ill have the benefits we deserve.
And in 12 months we will come back for our fallen comrades and WE WILL ORGANIZE THIS WHOLE COMPANY!!

  17. What's good for the Goose is good for the gander. NUMBSKULL has a few terminals that he's wasted time on and others that he dont realize is about to petition. We want a future for our families. If you look at retirees that have the ability to live comfortable it's because they had good benefits and pension. MIAMI there's no doubt you will prevail. Vote Yes for your families future!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  18. To all the terminals out there that think it takes a bad SCM, and crew to have a reason to go Union. You're wrong! All it takes is a little self-respect and some courage to want a better quality of life and security. Here at NOF we have an EXCEPTIONAL SCM, HR, and some pretty Damn decent FOS as well. I feel most of my fellow drivers would agree. The problem with this is that this company changes managers like underwear. Like Gump said Life's like a box o chocolates, you never know what your gonna get. Sometimes you get a good one and Somtimes yet get a rotten one. Unfortunately this company has very poor quality control when it comes to their chocolates. Such bad quality control it leaves one to wonder if they are putting rotten ones in on purpose. Mr. Lemkuhl, you should have fixed this years ago. Fear not though, we the Union at Conway will take care of this for you now.

Fellow drivers, dockworkers, mechanics, CSR's around the country. Stand up, hold your head high, join us in unity, and let's make Conway the best Damn trucking company in the world to work for.

Vote yes for a better tomorrow!

    1. Small facilities count so dont wait do what u guys have to do and help Out UNION YES

      Delete
    2. Yea imagine the large terminals being the so called wheel and the small terminals being the spokes of that wheel. If you break enough spokes then eventually u got the whole wheel. You small terminals can make it happen as well. Don't wait for the big terminals. You guys and gals are more tight nit and closer to each other at small terminals. Possibly easier to get everyone on the same page. Large terminals will take time because of the large number of employees with only a few on the same page. I think that the small facilities are gonna win this thing.

  26. If we can get a YES in Miami, Buffalo and Orlando I think we'd have a chance at going NATIONWIDE! VOTE YES! Give yourself a chance at having career, not just a job. A career comes with retirement, overtime, job security, good health benefits, decent vacation time. Conway's just a job.......

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Well said. This is just a job. When Conway goes Union, hell, they wont have to worry about a driver shortage, people will be lining up to get in the door. Because then it will be a career like you said and not just a job.

  43. For those Conway. Drivers who are 30 years of age or younger this is your opportunity to vote yes and have a chance to negotiate for a pension and retire at 55 years of age with a decent retirement. 401k is a transfer of your retirement to Conway's executive and to lazy ass do nothing shares holder or wealthy rich investors. 401k's a legalized way for the wealthy rich to steal money from working people.

Before. The union buster Lupe came back to visit giving the dsr's stupid looks almost as if he was laughing. During the union busting campaign at ula they went as far as to get a puppet EILEEN SAUCEDO from the sales team to say that customers we're worried for us going union. Customers just want their freight picked up on time eileen wtf we're you talking about. ftb! They will try every trick in the book. Don't let them take your guaranteed rights away vote yes. We here at ula are still in a limbo, they keep changing the rules as they please. Nobody to back us up!

  75. A WORD TO ANYONE IN NOF THINKING OF VOTING NO. The union busters and management were our BEST FRIENDS here in Miami for weeks before the vote. Don't worry, they said. We will take care of you if you do the right thing. Coffee, donuts and pizza coming out of the woodwork. We won on Thursday and by Friday, everyone left the terminal. No more treats and no more respect. Haven't seen management since then and all the improvements are gone with them. They will say and do anything to get you to vote no because it BENEFITS THEM. Don't fall for it. Do something to BENEFIT YOU. Vote Yes.

  115. Unions have a substantial impact on the compensation and work lives of both unionized and non-unionized workers. This report presents current data on unions’ effect on wages, fringe benefits, total compensation, pay inequality, and workplace protections.

    Some of the conclusions are:

Unions raise wages of unionized workers by roughly 20% and raise compensation, including both wages and benefits, by about 28%.Unions reduce wage inequality because they raise wages more for low- and middle-wage workers than for higher-wage workers, more for blue-collar than for white-collar workers, and more for workers who do not have a college degree.Strong unions set a pay standard that nonunion employers follow. For example, a high school graduate whose workplace is not unionized but whose industry is 25% unionized is paid 5% more than similar workers in less unionized industries. The impact of unions on total nonunion wages is almost as large as the impact on total union wages. The most sweeping advantage for unionized workers is in fringe benefits. Unionized workers are more likely than their nonunionized counterparts to receive paid leave, are approximately 18% to 28% more likely to have employer-provided health insurance, and are 23% to 54% more likely to be in employer-provided pension plans.Unionized workers receive more generous health benefits than nonunionized workers. They also pay 18% lower health care deductibles and a smaller share of the costs for family coverage. In retirement, unionized workers are 24% more likely to be covered by health insurance paid for by their employer.Unionized workers receive better pension plans. Not only are they more likely to have a guaranteed benefit in retirement, their employers contribute 28% more toward pensions.Unionized workers receive 26% more vacation time and 14% more total paid leave (vacations and holidays).

Unions play a pivotal role both in securing legislated labor protections and rights such as safety and health, overtime, and family/medical leave and in enforcing those rights on the job. Because unionized workers are more informed, they are more likely to benefit from social insurance programs such as unemployment insurance and workers compensation. Unions are thus an intermediary institution that provides a necessary complement to legislated benefits and protections.

    The union wage premium

It should come as no surprise that unions raise wages, since this has always been one of the main goals of unions and a major reason that workers seek collective bargaining. How much unions raise wages, for whom, and the consequences of unionization for workers, firms, and the economy have been studied by economists and other researchers for over a century (for example, the work of Alfred Marshall). This section presents evidence from the 1990s that unions raise the wages of unionized workers by roughly 20% and raise total compensation by about 28%.

The research literature generally finds that unionized workers’ earnings exceed those of comparable nonunion workers by about 15%, a phenomenon known as the “union wage premium.”

    H. Gregg Lewis found the union wage premium to be 10% to 20% in his two well-known assessments, the first in the early 1960s (Lewis 1963) and the second more than 20 years later (Lewis 1986). Freeman and Medoff (1984) in their classic analysis, What Do Unions Do?, arrived at a similar conclusion.

Table 1 provides several estimates of the union hourly wage premium based on household and employer data from the mid- to late 1990s. All of these estimates are based on statistical analyses that control for worker and employer characteristics such as occupation, education, race, industry, and size of firm. Therefore, these estimates show how much collective bargaining raises the wages of unionized workers compared to comparable nonunionized workers.

  116. Drivers In South Brunswick Seek Fairness, Respect On The Job
A group of 113 drivers at FedEx Freight’s South Brunswick, N.J., terminal voted today to join Teamsters Local 701. The vote was 66 to 42.

“This victory is for all of us,” said Mike Thiemer, a driver. “We are tired of the unfair and inconsistent work rules and policies handed down by management. It comes down to wanting to be treated with respect and dignity.”

“The workers came to us looking for fairness after years of being mistreated and disrespected,” said Ernie Soehl, President of Teamsters Local 701 in North Brunswick, N.J., and the Teamsters Eastern Region Freight Coordinator. “The company continued to disrespect the workers with its vicious lies during the anti-union campaign it waged, but the workers saw through this. In fact, we invited the terminal manager to debate the issues, but of course he didn’t show up.”

This victory follows another at FedEx Freight in Croydon, Pa., where 47 drivers voted to join Local 107 in Philadelphia on Oct. 14. Other campaigns at FedEx Freight and at Con-way Freight are under way across the country.

  118. Speaking as a driver... they agree to unrealistic delivery times, provide bad, often incorrect directions, and little useful support when a driver can't find a customer. They send OTR truck into locations that SHOULD be serviced by the smaller trucks in their freight division... and blame drivers if your building, gates, or employee vehicles get damaged as a result of sending 53' trailers where they don't belong.

Quite simply, they accept every contract, and don't take responsibility if they aren't prepared to properly fulfill that contract.

If you want reliability and people of character as your business partners, look elsewhere.
Stuff like this is a typical day at our service center at Orlando .that's why we need local union to come in and assist.

"These days, every dollar counts," says Crane, who shows members how union benefits can save you money and provide a safety net like they did for him. Unions have always helped out the working man .

  130. Companies whose workers are organizing to gain union representation will pay tens of thousands, and sometimes millions of dollars to law or consulting firms in order to defeat organizing drives rather than allocating that money towards quality wages and benefits for their employees. The disdain for unionization is so strong that oftentimes employers will spend more money on "union avoidance" than the employees are asking for in their contract demands . This is exactly what Conway freight is doing to their employees.

    ReplyDelete
  131. How to Enforce Your Rights

If you believe your rights or the rights of others have been violated, you should contact the National Labor Relations Board promptly to protect your rights, generally within six months of the unlawful activity. You may make inquiries of the NLRB without your employer or a union, or anyone else being informed of the inquiry. A charge against an employer or union must be filed to initiate an investigation; charges may be filed by any person and need not be filed by the employee directly affected by the violations. Employees should seek assistance from the nearest Regional NLRB office, which can be found by clicking "Contact NLRB" above. It is illegal for an employer or union to retaliate against employees for filing charges or participating in NLRB investigation or proceedings.

If the NLRB determines that your rights have been violated by an employer or a union, you may be awarded appropriate remedial relief. For example, if an employer has unlawfully fired an employee, the NLRB may order the employer to rehire the employee and to pay the employee lost wages and benefits. Likewise, if a union's unlawful conduct has caused an employee to lose a job, the NLRB may order the union to seek the employee's reinstatement and to make the employee whole financially. In all cases, the NLRB seeks to undo as much as possible the effects of whatever unlawful conduct has occurred, including by ordering the employer or union to stop violating the law and to post a remedial notice informing employees of their rights under the National Labor Relations Act.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Your Rights during Union Organizing

You have the right to form, join or assist a union.

You have the right to organize a union to negotiate with your employer over your terms and conditions of employment. This includes your right to distribute union literature, wear union buttons t-shirts, or other insignia (except in unusual "special circumstances"), solicit coworkers to sign union authorization cards, and discuss the union with coworkers. Supervisors and managers cannot spy on you (or make it appear that they are doing so), coercively question you, threaten you or bribe you regarding your union activity or the union activities of your co-workers. You can't be fired, disciplined, demoted, or penalized in any way for engaging in these activities.

Working time is for work, so your employer may maintain and enforce non-discriminatory rules limiting solicitation and distribution, except that your employer cannot prohibit you from talking about or soliciting for a union during non-work time, such as before or after work or during break times; or from distributing union literature during non-work time, in non-work areas, such as parking lots or break rooms. Also, restrictions on your efforts to communicate with co-workers cannot be discriminatory. For example, your employer cannot prohibit you from talking about the union during working time if it permits you to talk about other non-work-related matters during working time.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Employer/Union Rights and Obligations

The National Labor Relations Act forbids employers from interfering with, restraining, or coercing employees in the exercise of rights relating to organizing, forming, joining or assisting a labor organization for collective bargaining purposes, or from working together to improve terms and conditions of employment, or refraining from any such activity. Similarly, labor organizations may not restrain or coerce employees in the exercise of these rights.

Examples of employer conduct that violates the law:

Threatening employees with loss of jobs or benefits if they join or vote for a union or engage in protected concerted activity.Threatening to close the plant if employees select a union to represent them.Questioning employees about their union sympathies or activities in circumstances that tend to interfere with, restrain or coerce employees in the exercise of their rights under the Act.Promising benefits to employees to discourage their union support.Transferring, laying off, terminating, assigning employees more difficult work tasks, or otherwise punishing employees because they engaged in union or protected concerted activity.Transferring, laying off, terminating, assigning employees more difficult work tasks, or otherwise punishing employees because they filed unfair labor practice charges or participated in an investigation conducted by NLRB.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Section 8(a)(1) of the Act makes it an unfair labor practice for an employer "to interfere with, restrain, or coerce employees in the exercise of the rights guaranteed in Section 7" of the Act. For example, you may not

Threaten employees with adverse consequences, such as closing the workplace, loss of benefits, or more onerous working conditions, if they support a union, engage in union activity, or select a union to represent them.Threaten employees with adverse consequences if they engage in protected, concerted activity. (Activity is "concerted" if it is engaged in with or on the authority of other employees, not solely by and on behalf of the employee himself. It includes circumstances where a single employee seeks to initiate, induce, or prepare for group action, as well as where an employee brings a group complaint to the attention of management. Activity is "protected" if it concerns employees' interests as employees. An employee engaged in otherwise protected, concerted activity may lose the Act's protection through misconduct.)Promise employees benefits if they reject the union.Imply a promise of benefits by soliciting grievances from employees during a union organizing campaign. (However, if you regularly solicited employee grievances before the campaign began, you may continue that practice unchanged.)Confer benefits on employees during a union organizing campaign to induce employees to vote against the union.Withhold changes in wages or benefits during a union organizing campaign that would have been made had the union not been on the scene, unless you make clear to employees that the change will occur whether or not they select the union, and that your sole purpose in postponing the change is to avoid any appearance of trying to influence the outcome of the election.Coercively question employees about their own or coworkers' union activities or sympathies. (Whether questioning is coercive and therefore unlawful depends on the relevant circumstances, including who asks the questions, where, and how; what information is sought; whether the questioned employee is an open and active union supporter; and whether the questioning occurs in a context of other unfair labor practices.)Prohibit employees from talking about the union during working time, if you permit them to talk about other non-work-related subjects.Poll your employees to determine the extent of their support for a union, unless you comply with certain safeguards. You must not have engaged in unfair labor practices or otherwise created a coercive atmosphere. In addition, you must (1) communicate to employees that the purpose of the poll is to determine whether the union enjoys majority support (and that must, in truth, be your purpose); (2) give employees assurances against reprisal; and (3) conduct the poll by secret ballot.Spy on employees' union activities. ("Spying" means doing something out of the ordinary to observe the activity. Seeing open union activity in workplace areas frequented by supervisors is not "spying.")Create the impression that you are spying on employees' union activities.Photograph or videotape employees engaged in peaceful union or other protected activities.Solicit individual employees to appear in a campaign video.

    1. Discriminating against employees for NLRB activity (Section 8(a)(4))

The National Labor Relations Board has no power to investigate an employer (or union) on its own. We cannot do our job unless people come forward, file charges, cooperate with NLRB investigations, and testify in NLRB hearings. It is unlawful for employers to discriminate against employees for helping the NLRB do its job.

Section 8(a)(4) of the Act makes it an unfair labor practice for an employer "to discharge or otherwise discriminate against an employee because he has filed charges or given testimony under this Act." (An employer that violates Section 8(a)(4) also derivatively violates Section 8(a)(1).) For example, you may not

Discharge or otherwise discriminate against employees for announcing an intent to file a charge, providing information or giving sworn statements to a Board agent investigating a charge, refusing to disclose the identity of a charge-filing coworker, talking to coworkers about future testimony, or refusing to testify voluntarily on your behalf.Discharge or otherwise discriminate against employees because you suspect or believe, correctly or not, that they had filed or were about to file a charge.

THEY WERE TRULY TAKEN OFF GUARD WHEN OUR #1 LEADER OF THE PACK, OUR NATIVE SONS LAREDO (MUCH RESPECT TO LAREDO) KICKED THIS MOVEMENT OFF. 139. It's really interesting and amazing what CON -JOB Will do just to keep its workers in control. This company hired so called Labor consultants which in reality they are thugs who get paid like a HIT MEN..they will say anything and promise anything just to keep you from your right to be unionize. This guy's are lower than roaches they will come to a service center to destroy lives and take money out of your paycheck. They are SCUM.and they get paid very well .Let's say in the thousands of dollars to break up any union organization at whatever cost .Don't fall for their false friendship this is what your Con-job people are planing on you Orlando Florida. Take notes and report this scumbags to The NLRB. FEDEX WITH YOU MY FRIEND AT CON-JOB
