LAREDO UNDER INJUSTICE, CONFLICT OF INTEREST AND FAVORITISM…

We won our election in Laredo, TX but we still have to deal with a bunch of garbage from our manager Ted Garcia. He is the reason why we seeked out the union and achieved our goal. He is a master at lying and he does what he can to keep us divided. He will not miss a chance to bad mouth the union and he’s been a perpetrator of sexual  harassment. All in all, the man is a piece of crap. We are tired of him. He did everything he could to thwart the union but he failed. Now he’s pushing for a new election because he claims the union coerced people into voting it in. In fact, it was Conway that deployed all the dirty tricks they could to stop us. There will never be another election here, even if there was one, we would win again. We survived to win, we made it through having rats like Hector Menchaca. This man has been responsible for many drivers being let go and even had a manager rudy ruiz dismissed. This is just the kind of man Conway loves to have on the payroll. All he’s done is bad mouth other drivers, pointed out when other drivers make mistakes, and just flat out spread lies. He even got into a supervisors ear so much that the the workers quit working for him. He accused of sexual harassment but management has concealed it. There’s nothing Conway loves like a man on the inside policing everyone else. They will do what they can to protect each other. Those days are coming to an end though.

I blame this directly on the ceo of Conway. This guy should have been terminated the minute that came out. Shame on you for letting this man still work for conway

Conway claimes is all they want is a fair election, in reality they are saying is all we want is to be able to break any and all laws ,which they have proven time and time again as long as it goes there way it is fair, so we the drivers need to file our own complaints with the NLRB, then we can make it a fair election .

  6. If con-way did this with every damage claim that had pictures showing that we clearly miss handled our customers freight we would have been out of business a long time ago..... It takes time to get a customer, and a second to loss them... & and you may never get them back... & so the story going in time you splitting your drivers in half. And the drivers you want on the other side of ur B.S. are NEVER COMING BACK!!! We as drivers know about ur secret meeting trying to fix the problems you've created.

The first thing is you need to unite all the people who want the union.Get everyone in a group then find out what wich union Ups has and contact them.Then you guys can have a meeting with a union rep.When your at the meeting make sure people arent afraid to ask questions.But the first thing is to have unith among your Coworkers.Its all about supporting each other.Good luck I hope you guys do get together and file for the Union.

I have been with Conway freight in orlando for about 3 years I would not recommend my worst enemy to work for Conway they are horrible to their employee's in orlando they will make you work threw lunches breaks try to take a warm up break from their bitter cold dock, you will be asked why r u down here in the break room, now their putting cameras in their trucks to watch the people who are driving their equipment. Bottom line CONWAY FREIGHT SUCKS do not go their for work they look for a reason just to fire you, and they wonder why the morale is so low their, the head terminal manager will walk right by you and will not even speak just look at like your the crazy, I would recommend every employee to look for a better job you are just a number not a person and when your number is up your out the door. And you got arrogant supervisor like this guy Logan plew that treats drivers like shit.and they hey we are bringing the union in ?

  30. Look like buffalo driver's have brought charges against conway NLRB CASE NUMBER IS 03-CA-142781 THIS IS CHARGES BROUGHT BY THE DRIVERS AGAINST CONWAY it does not give alot of information specifics have been redacted, so will they vote today ? We shall find out.

  31. Guy's don't believe all the lies these Union busters are telling you about the Unions are what hurt YRC. The Roadway company was bought by Yellow co. (Who was already a financial mess do to poor management) for $1.2billion. Then they bought USF Holland for $1.5billion within 12 months of buying Roadway. All of this was done right before the largest economic collapse since the great depression of the 1930's. Their financial problems have had entirely NOTHING to do with having a Union. Instead it's been one horrible management decision after another. As a matter of fact, unions and and driver unity on being flexible is the only thing that has kept these companies in business!

    1. I worked for Roadway. I was hired there in 2000. Roadway was DEBT FREE! YES PEOPLE A DEBT FREE UNION FREIGHT LINE! We always wondered how Yellow who was in bad condition bought a DEBT FREE Roadway. Common sense says it should have been the other way around. Roadway purchasing Yellow. Either way the above post is correct. The UNION had absolutely nothing to do with the condition they are in. In fact the Teamsters saved YRC by us voting for the pay cut to save the company. We didn't have to take the 15% reduction we voted for it. First was 10% which I personally voted YES for but then was the 5% more they wanted and I voted NO for that one .Hey at least with the Teamsters I had a say so.

  36. Buffalo DSR here...the NLRB is investigating ULP charges brought by the union against Conway . As such the vote is postponed until the investigation is completed.

    Charges were filed on 12/12/14 due to the overwhelming violations committed by the company and the union busters over the last 4 weeks.

    These anti-union actions have made it impossible to get a fair, intimidation & coercion free vote administered by the NLRB, at this time.

    The charges listed on the NLRB web site list the categories of the violations, but not the specific charges, which are numerous.

    Conway has made EVERY effort to block a fair election with...

    1. LIES - the union busters have all but guaranteed that Conway will give as their "last, best and final" offer a contract which gives us less that we now have, and when we do not ratify this "last, best and final" offer Conway will just unilaterally implement the terms of the offer. If we do not accept the terms offered, we were told a strike would most likely be imminent and we would all wined up in bankruptcy because the union would not offer strike pay.

    2. THREATS - to close the terminal, and or rout freight around us

    3. TWISTED FACTS - making the salaries of the union leadership an issue, but they never mentioned that even though Hoffa makes 300K a year, Stotler makes over 1 million

    4. INTIMIDATION, FEAR AND SOMKE & MIRROR PRESENTATIONS - the issues are fair treatment, medical, PTO and retirement to name a few, Steve Beyer made up his own issues, the teamsters only want our dues, a contract will be forced down our throat as soon as Conway agrees to a "dues check off" and a "security agreement", a strike is inevitable and as a result we all will loose everything we have

    5. BRIBERY - food every day for 4 weeks straight, when we all know we are lucky to get 2 pizzas a month, and randomly passing out Tim Horton's gift cards

    We have THE RIGHT to have this vote intimidation free, coercion free, with all the CORRECT facts, and without lies and misrepresentations.

    And once the NLRB has completed their investigation, found Conway guilty of these charges and appropriate action is taken we will have our vote, and we will be VICTORIOUS!!

  38. Laredo tx...... In the last 10 yrs, hector menchaca has been the person that has created conflict
    He is appears to be very friendly and puts the supervisors against hard working employees.
    He tents to spreads rummors and lies against the employees.
    Lately he has been looking for alliance between the new drivers that dont know how his true self is.
    Ted,steve and all the managment of the company do not let him fool you like he did to RUDY Ruiz,Mario,and FOS anna lee, Raúl, etc etc. They belive in him and he only used them to his own benefit,

    He did not change what he needed to change to the contrary he made things worse
    He is a lier, when he got the job he mention the outside drivers
    Everybody's thinks there is a conflict of interest.
    As we don't need them and he calls them.
    He also say to get together some drivers to fix problems but he never did.
    He cover supervisors involved in stolen merchandise.
    And only fire the employees not supervisors
    He also threatened two drivers telling them if they keep with the accusations of sexual harassment who has commited by his favorite driver hector menchaca
    In laredo he is the one that causes so many favoritism
    He has hire entire families.
    And some of those employees have some bussiness in conway
    This is conflict of interest.

    The last case we knew was of a line driver
    He was suspended because ted garcia that he was bullying other employees

    He ends doing what hector menchaca is telling
    Another example is the ex manager rudy Ruiz believed all what menchaca told him that drivers where taking more than their lunch break and rudy was always behind them
    Be careful with hector menchaca as this can happen to you as all the previous manager.
