My dear
friends, I come to you speaking only the truth. There has never been any lies
on our part here to try to sway you in anyway. We are just here shining light
on the deception, greed, and evil within Conway. They have done nothing but lie
to us, cheat us, and for some of us, terminate us. We have only been seeking
change to better ourselves and to secure our piece of the prosperity that we’ve
helped create for Conway. They have brought union busters to try and break us.
All they do is try to intimidate us and make us believe that the union is bad
for us. We need to look past the lies, the empty promises, and the threats.
Election Day for Miami is December 11th and between now and then they will try
everything to get us to vote no. Starting in January 2015 they will begin to
implement the point system rules of the electronic on board recorder (E.O.B.R.).
They will watch every move we make, any minor mistake, distraction, anything to
get rid of us. Conway’s executives are looking to get rid of 900 of us using
these means. Let’s deal another blow to Conway on December 11th. We need work
rules be put on paper and have that be a binding, legal document. Vote YES!
Ladies and
Gentlemen, to those just that are negative and those who won't vote because
they say the union is not good for us well guess what, you are only shooting
yourself in your own foot. I will tell
you that not only are we going to WIN BIG!!! We have the majority of the votes.
You are only jeopardizing yourselves, your job, and your families. What's happening here is the opportunity to
earn back the Respect we long for and always to be treated with Dignity which
we Deserve.

Guys just wanted to let you know about drive cam they say it's just too help you to make you a better driver? Just remember every time they take you in for coaching and then at the bottom of the video the coach puts a comment lower right corner after you watch the video. They tell you that is not too discipline you just to coach you. I CALL BULL SHIT ON THAT!! EVERY EVENT GOES ON YOUR FILE CON-WAY IS CREATING A PAPER TRAIL. LIKE I SAW ON A OLDER POST AT CON-WAY WE NEVER LOSE A CASE NEVER! Next time you go in for coaching asked your coach where every coaching event goes and if it goes on your personal file.

"People need to wake up and fight, People need to realize what unions have done for them. Who gave people the 40-hour work week? Who fought for workplace safety? Who brought you the weekend? Who brought you workers comp? Who gave people overtime pay?" Respect and dignity as part of these deals.
Just remember that they will use those letters that you accumulate after time against you so when you try to collect unemployment benefits YOU WONT GET ANY BENEFITS.

ReplyDeleteHere is another thing the Union does. They give us a fixed schedule,and fair treatment!! Here at XPN they change the bids 4 to 5 times a year so when you bid 9 by March you might get bumped to a 10 do changes. They can up end your day to day life just like that!! And have to rearrange your schedule with your kids and family just because this will bennifit them.

ReplyDeleteTeamsters Local 633 Wins Grievance's for UPS Keene Members
Teamsters Local 633 recently won two more grievances for Full-time UPS Keene members Doug Lussier & Jarrod Morgan totaling over $14,000.
Business Agent Kevin Foley had the members file the grievances claiming violations of our current UPS National Master & New England Supplemental Agreement. Kevin represents all of our approx 1,000 UPS members employed at UPS's seven (7) different facilities in New Hampshire.
The first case involved a violation of the 3rd doctor procedure outlined in the contract for returning injured members and the second involved a violation of paying the member the wrong pay rate when he transferred from Part-time to Full-time, he was a PT air driver.
Business Agent Foley argued & sustained both grievances through the procedure outlined in the contract. The members have received their checks and are very happy to be Teamsters. Both grievances were settled at Step 2 of the grievance procedure.
"I want to thank my steward Ron Robinson for his efforts as well, he gave me the facts surrounding the grievance. My stewards play a vital role everyday in gathering the facts surrounding grievances." Said Business Agent Kevin Foley.

The new pact increases pay by 50 cents per hour each year over its term, which ends July 31, 2018. That would make the UPS Freight workers "the highest paid in the (less than truckload/LTL) industry," a Teamsters fact sheet says. The proposed pact would also cover UPS Freight's clerks, joining the truckers and loading-dock workers.
ReplyDeleteAnd while UPS Freight gets to change health insurers, the union says that workers in the firm's "buy-up" health plan will see premiums decline by 10 percent, and those now in the free health plan will see it stay free. The pact cuts retiree health insurance premium costs, too, the union fact sheet says.
And the 10 percent of the UPS Freight workers who had no minimum weekly guarantee of work hours now get a 4-hour guarantee, the pact itself adds.
The pact also has stronger seniority provisions. A new section says any driver awaiting company discipline for an accident will be shifted to loading dock work - at the dock workers' pay rate - until the discipline case is decided, within 20 days.
The contract mandates union participation and representation of workers at discipline hearings, the Weingarten rule that the NLRB produced years ago. It also says the only way a shop steward or other union rep cannot come to the discipline hearing is if the worker facing the hearing waives his or her right to union representation having the union rep, in writing. And it requires UPS Freight to make sure the trucks are safe before drivers take them out on the road. If the driver feels the truck is unsafe, the driver can refuse to drive it - and the contract bars the firm from disciplining the driver for the refusal.
The union said the pact curbs UPS Freight's ability to subcontract unit work. A new provision says any full-time driver cut back to part-time hours shall get the full-time pay rate, not the "casual" rate. Union Secretary-Treasurer Ken Hall warned at the start of bargaining there would be no contract unless UPS Freight addressed subcontracting.
"UPS and UPS Freight Teamsters are the best in the world. They are productive and dedicated. They deserve the best pay and benefits in the industry," Teamsters President James Hoffa told the firm when talks started months ago...........THIS ONLY WORKS WHEN YOU HAVE A CONTRACT AND NOT LET THE GREEDY THIEVES TELL YOU WHAT YOUR GOIN TO GET.
WASHINGTON (PAI) - Labor must launch a massive education campaign about the value of unions to the U.S. throughout its history, to counter right wing propaganda and to forestall deepening nationwide cynicism that could lead people to turn to demagogues, speakers at an Economic Policy Institute event said.
ReplyDeleteAuthor Bob Morris, former Michigan Governor Jim Blanchard, and EPI economist Ross Eisenbrey, made those points at a late-October rollout of Morris' book "Built in Detroit," a comprehensive history of the UAW, its battles against management goons and mobsters and its role in creating the middle class and funding and energizing civil rights and other movements.
Son of Ken Morris, UAW co-founder and confidant of the legendary Reuther brothers, Bob Morris spent much of his talk recounting the tales of UAW. He featured its battles against the car companies, ouster of its first president - pre-Reuther - for being too cozy with automakers, and its fight with a notorious Detroit mobster who busted unions, and unionists' heads.
But late in the talk, Morris tied those labor history events to today's circumstances, where unions represent 6.7 percent of private-sector workers, down from more than one-third in the 1950s. And Blanchard and Eisenbrey joined in.
"It's important to say" to people "what happens if we don't have a union," Morris said. With an enormous share of total U.S. income going to the top 0.5 percent of the population, "At one point, there's going to be an explosion of people who can't make it - unless there's a union option" for them, Morris predicted.
Without unions, Morris warned, the nation's social fabric would further fray "and I worry what would happen if a demagogue came along." Added Blanchard: "We have a crying need for civic learning. There has to be a whole new initiative about who we are and how we got here." He was known as a strongly pro-worker governor and congressman.
Eisenbrey said "a minimal requirement" is to strengthen U.S. labor law to restore "tools" that weak laws and anti-worker court rulings have removed from workers: The sit-down strike, the secondary boycott, and campaigns against "hot cargo," to name three. But, given the make-up of Congress, now and in the future, audience members pointed out that's unlikely.
THIS IS PART OF THE UPS CONTRACT--ARTICLE 6:

information received from GPS or any successor
system unless the person intentionally defrauds
the company. This is a change – last contract the
company was prohibited from discharging anyone
on a first offense based on GPS. Now it is a
prohibition against discharge regardless of
whether it is a first offense or not, except in cases
of intentional fraud.
The company must confirm information
obtained from GPS by direct observation or
other corroborating evidence. Otherwise, the
GPS information will not be used for discharge.
In addition, the language was strengthened
to define dishonesty as an intentional act to
defraud the company.
The company admitted fault in misusing
technology in the past and committed to meet
with the union at the union’s request if the problem
continues or arises again in the future to
make sure that the issue is addressed at the first.

benefits will be $3,700 per month (up from
$3,500)
• 30 or more years and any age will increase
to $3,200 per month plus $100/yr of service
up to $3700 (up from $3,000)
Effective 1/1/2017:
• 35 years, any age will be $3,900 per month
• 30 years at any age will be $3,400 per
month plus $100/yr of service up to $3,900.

For people in the UPS part-time pension plan,
retirement benefits any age after 35 years of
service will increase to $2,100 per month (up
from $1,925)------THIS WOULD BE GREAT AFTER WE RETIRE RIGHT?

• After 25 years at 60 years of age increases
to $1,500 per month (up from $1,375)
• Retirement at any age with 25 years of service
increases to $1,250 per month (up from
$1,125)
Part-timers in the UPS plan will now need
to work only 375 hours a year in order to become
a participant in the plan. A part-timer
must work 750 hours a year in order to receive
full vesting credit, but a part-timer will become
a participant in the plan after reaching age 21
and completing a 12 month period during which
they work 375 hours.
22.3 JOBS, ARTICLE 22
• Provides for an additional 2,350 full-time
jobs during the first three years of the contract.
• Protects the current 22.3 jobs.
Long Term Disability
Long term disability benefits will increase. The
$600 cap will increase to $700 on January 1,
2014 and to $800 on January 1, 2017.

PEOPLE KEEP ON PUSHING TOWARDS UNION LAND, CAN'T YOU IMAGINE BEING ABLE TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR HOUSEHOLD AFTER RETIREMENT. IT CAN ONLY HAPPEN IF WE STICK TOGETHER WATCH EACH OTHERS BACK, ENCOURAGE EACH OTHER,AND VOTE YES TO UNION!!!!
DeleteMadbob your information is great but we need more than just sharing info. Conway would be union a long time ago but there was no way for each terminal to know the other terminals business but today is different. Through social media we can know what's really going on instead of just hearing what Conway wants us to hear. So this is also what we need please...each person reading this blog, please check it every day and read the updated threads, and each one of you that reads the blogs tell 3 people u trust to look up on google "change conway to win". Then tell them to tell 3 people and so on and so. This is the way information spreads. I have done this myself but the word still needs to get out. We need to unite together. With numbers there is strength. The more people know the union movement is on the more people will be emboldened to join the movement. Brothers and sisters the union is the only way. Join the movement,tell others to jump onboard and vote union YES!
