This is only one of the 2 postings YOU put on social media,and every driver at XAU has read the worst of the 2. This cowardly act just proves why we need Union representation. How can we trust you or anyone in management? From what we hear Ann Arbor got more than 30 complaints from drivers and yet you still have your job. Let it be the other way around and see how fast we would get fired! Just goes to show you that management takes care of their own even when they break the law and us drivers have NO-ONE!! Not yet at least.

OK so i was trying to stay away from posting,at least for a little bit because Im just a dumb ass worker and Conway has some college graduates who Supposely are very intelligent on how to run a company.But when I see this kind of crap or I get used and lied too.My IQ goes a little bit higher.SO with the Comment that this 27year Conway Employee wrote.I will Point out a few things.Do you think #1--UPS,Police,Fire,EMTS,baseball,basketball,football,Nurses,Waste management,Actors,Screen Writers and Many other professions are destroyed because of the Union??

    Local Freightliner workers approved their first new labor contract in four years Saturday, according to a statement released by Daimler Trucks North America. Eighty-four percent of local UAW members voted to ratify the contract, which will become effective upon approval by the Daimler Supervisory Board.


    “The UAW is thankful to have this collaborative relationship with Daimler Trucks North America,” said UAW Region 8 Director Gary Casteel, who has responsibility for the Daimler Truck North America facilities in the South.
    Casteel held Daimler as an example of a company that respects workers’ rights, and has reaped the rewards of working together with its unions and employees. The new four-year collective bargaining agreement, which covers UAW members in Gastonia, Mount Holly and Cleveland, “rewards workers for several years of consistently increasing market share and quality production,” and includes a $7,000 ratification bonus, 3 percent wage increases for the first and third years of the agreement, 3 percent lump-sum bonuses in the second and fourth years, an increased night shift premium and an attendance bonus program.


    The contract also includes a Voluntary Employee Benefit Association, established by the union and Daimler Trucks, “that will secure retiree benefits for the long term,” according to the release. Current retirees will also be included in the association following court approval, and Daimler said it will provide additional funding.
    “Instead of walking away from its responsibility to its retirees, Daimler Trucks North America stayed at the table with the UAW until we found a solution to a problem that is plaguing our nation, and retirees from Daimler Trucks North America will have a brighter future as a result,” Casteel added.----------------

    DETROIT—A new contract at Ford Motor Co. for about 41,000 unionized workers was ratified by a comfortable margin overcoming some naysayers among United Auto Workers union members who argued the agreement fell short.

    The final tally was 63% in favor of the agreement and 37% against among production workers. Among Ford's skilled trades workers, the vote was slightly stronger in favor, 65% to 35%.

    The labor contract initially received a lukewarm reception among workers who said they wanted a greater share of the company's robust profits. At several plants last week, the contract was defeated. But as more votes were cast over the weekend at the largest Ford factories, the tide turned to favor the agreement.

    "We didn't try to go out and sway anybody. We just answered questions," said Todd Dunn, president of Local 862 in Louisville, Ky., one of the last union locals to vote. Union members at Ford "made an informed decision based on their knowledge of it."

    It was a clear victory for UAW President Bob King. Two years ago, Ford workers rejected a concessions-filled agreement that the union's leadership had recommended to its membership. At the time, Mr. King was the head of the union's Ford division.

    "The union leadership said early voting was based on emotion and later voting was based on better information, and I'd agree with that assessment," said Robert Clark, a retired labor negotiator at Ford.

    The contract is the second agreement ratified with the Detroit Three auto makers. The accords are the first since the industry was rocked in 2008 by a sharp drop off in SUV and pick-up truck sales followed by a government-led bailout and restructuring at General Motors Co. and Chrysler Group LLC in 2009.

  5. Workers at GM approved a similar, albeit less generous accord earlier this fall. The ratification vote at Chrysler has just begun and is expected to wrap up this month. The tension may have been the greatest at Ford, where workers had the right to strike if the agreement was shot down. GM and Chrysler workers gave up that option through 2015 as part of the companies' restructurings.

    The auto makers argue that the new agreements will keep them competitive with foreign car companies who build their products in the U.S.

    "This agreement is proof that, by working together with our UAW partners and local communities, we can significantly create new jobs, invest in our plants and people, and make a very positive impact on the U.S. economy," Mark Fields, Ford's president of the Americas, said in a statement Wednesday.

    UAW Vice President Jimmy Settles, who oversees Ford workers for the union, reported that turnout was high with 85% of the overall membership coming out to the polls. Mr. King emphasized the job growth amidst a fragile economic recovering.

    "As the nation's economy remains stalled and uncertain and its employment rate stagnates, we were able to win an agreement with Ford that will bring auto manufacturing jobs back to the United States from China, Mexico and Japan," the union president said in a statement Wednesday.

    The contract calls for Ford the company to hold the line on base wages for workers in exchange for investing $6.2 billion in U.S. plants and add 12,000 jobs including 7,000 previously announced jobs through 2015. The pact also provides for a $6,000 signing bonus and $1,500 a year in inflation-protection payments. Ford workers also will see an average profit-sharing check of $3,700 for this year, based on financial performance during the first half of the year.

    For Ford's lowest paid workers, wages will rise from to about $19 an hour by 2015, from almost $16 an hour today. It was key goal for a union trying to promote equity among workers doing the same job by closing the gap among its two classes of workers. The tiered wage system for new and experienced workers was first allowed under the 2007 labor agreement with the Detroit Three.

    "I voted for it. I feel like maybe I didn't get everything I wanted, but that also means the company got a good deal. They took care of the second-tier workers, which was really important to me, even though I'm not a second-tier guy," Todd Jasina, a toolmaker at Ford's Sterling Heights, Mich., axle plant. He said he might use his signing bonus to do home improvements or maybe take his family on a vacation.

  25. As a former Con-Way driver, I used to work for Mr.Fecht many years ago. After seeing what he had posted, it really didn't shock me. Although, I never had problems with him. I did my job and went home. I am pro-labor and object to what he believes, though he does have the right to think what he does. Just like I have a right to think that voting for a republican is like voting for a pedophile. The only people you're screwing are the future children.

    It would have been a better choice for Mr.Fecht if he would have spoken on public property as opposed to using Facebook. Most people think they can post anything because they are exercising their first amendment right. But due to the nature of stating an ideology on a social media site it does not constitute the first amendment. (Currently the Supreme Court is looking into a matter such as this, but as of right now it's not protected speech.) Mr.Fecht is someone who should know a little about labor law, (although I doubt he has proper schooling in human resources.) Con-Way made employees sign a document not to post libel material inducing Con-Way on such a site. Which also proves a point as such that Con-Way employs people whom aren't correctly educated.

    His timing couldn’t be any better.

    The reason I left Con-way wasn't because of the pay, or necessarily the benefits, (however they suck). The actual reason was due to the threatening manner of the management. XAU has a tendency to breed derogatory managers.

    The actions of Mr.Fecht prove to me why it's so important to stand the ground for labor.

    Just because Con-Way speaks of change, history will repeat itself. Just give it a few years and it will be back to the whipping post mentality.

Most drivers are happy with Conway and its ability to perform at top levels in the industry.     2. Yea at NAT a guy asked Tom Clark what was Conways plan to keep drivers loyal with the potential of the Teamsters coming in and the driver shortage looming overhead? What is Conway gonna have to keep everyone happy thats better than the competition? Insurance, overtime, pensions? Tom stated that Conway will fight the union by any means necessary and that as far as the competition goes we are welcome to work anywhere we want. But the grass isn't always greener he said. We have a very competitive pay package blah blah blah. Oh and Tom mentioned turning the trucks back up to 65 was a reinvestment in the drivers even though they took a little hit in fuel costs. You know what Mr Tom I have a degree Clark! Conway should have kept the trucks at 62 and put that money towards our insurance not going up. SO MUCH FOR THAT DEGREE! I'm sorry but we can't take 65mph home on our check every week. NAT WAKE UP! UNION is the only way!

In tulsa but thats ok he was a very nice guy, so its nice to get a visitor from time to time but it was really for nothing im not sure about the 95 percent part but i guess that's close enough, but the other driver is correct tulsa is and i guess will be always be a no vote no matter what, so yes that was a big waste of time and money, so to all i guess you can count tulsa out actually drivers in tulsa do not any longer even want to talk about it .
