In your latest propaganda letter ( Guarantees ) handed to us last night you state that the union has spread negative rumors about our future. We want to know what the FUCK you talking about?? The union has never spread negative rumors, they have never promised anything but the chance to negotiate a CONTRACT. Something BOTH of you have with Conway Freight Inc. Why are you trying to deny us that right ???
The union has never told us that the company will fire us, lay us off, or disciplined for supporting or opposing the union, in fact they informed us that we a PROTECTED by federal rights to organize a union at Conway. The only threats of firings, discipline or layoff are coming from your management team and the non-union supporters they have sent to spread that fear and intimidation.
We can all laugh at you for this one! YOU can guarantee that we will be treated with DIGNITY AND RESPECT !!!! You come in from the marble palace for a few days and know what the daily operation of our service centers are ??? We all know that these morons running our centers DO NOT treat us with DIGNITY AND RESPECT !!!
We are glad you "guarantee" that the wages YOU promised the DRIVERS will be implemented in 2015. But why weren't the dock workers included in that wage increase? And why didn't you guarantee that our hours are not going to be cut, or our health care won't be increased ??? You think we don't know that you can guarantee all these things but it's not a legal binding contract!!! Why didn't you have it notarized ??? We know the bullshit your trying to feed us!
And WE WILL ALL be glad to pay union dues for the DIGNITY AND RESPECT you claim we have now.
Can YOU guys guarantee that you will still BE EMPLOYED by Conway Freight Inc. to abide by your signed guarantee ?? Your signatures won't mean shit if you guys get fired or choose to take your golden parachute! Why don't you save the ink and negotiate a good contract with the Teamsters and put those signatures in a TEAMSTER CONTRACT!
A CONTRACT is a legal binding document that you can't back out of regardless if you guys get fired, a contract will stand regardless.
A CONTRACT will guarantee that you will treat us with DIGNITY AND RESPECT!
A CONTRACT will guarantee that our wages will not be taken away and will only increase from the 27.10 that you have GUARANTEED!

Why are the mechanics not included in this so called guarantee ? We already know you don't value the mechanics or the maintenance department. we already know that you could subcontract out all the maintenance department s work. I just think you should consider the cost of subcontracting out all the maintenance department s work. The mechanics deserve respect and a good contract also. Just my two cents.

Yeah. Good luck with Mike Corbell. He was and probably by far the most confrontational person i have ever met in my life and here at ULA. He has so many complaints that have gone to corporate and HR. He has gotten in so many fights with employees, Supervisors and sub-service drivers. Cops have been called on numerous occasions. Yet he gets promoted to FOM! That just shows where Conway keeps dropping the ball. If Assholes had a country, he would be the President! With That said, Mike Corbell goes way back With Patrick. They used to work at Yellow together. Unfortunately Patrick will have his back. Im just happy he's no longer at ULA! Good Luck USB your gonna need it.

DeleteI just wanted to say that it doesn't take a shitty manager and bully supervisor to motivate to join union. Here in Orlando, I can't say a bad thing about any of them from the SCM down to all of the FOS. They do treat me with dignity and respect, and this is a great place to work. BUT, I am not a fucking idiot sheep who will sit by and let the greedy corporate management of this company keep throwing me their scraps and not offer me a seat at the table. It is fucking embarasing that I work for a billion dollar company that pays Greg Lamekule over 8 million dollars a year, and they don't pay OT after 8, no pension, bottom of the toilet insurance, and constantly comes up with safety and work violation policies to keep me in a constant state of fear of getting fired. Only sheep would put up with this treatment. I am a man. My vote is YES. C'Mon So Cal. Make us proud Thursday. Get of all fours and stand together and let's walk like men.

Wow brother I commend you, because when you really look at the entire picture its about us employees and what we have earned, deserve & what will keep our household functioning.. Very few employees can say positive statements about their scm mgr and fos's. This is a culture company who inspire & back up negative behavior in leadership (THESE ARE THE VERY WEAK SCM'S,FOM'S & FOS'S). ReplyDeleteI can't believe that Conway is making a lot of money, and we're still driving the shitest fleet in the industry, to top it off, the company went ahead and refurbished some of those sterlings, I know they bought some cascadias, but there's not that many of them, just look at the competition, Saia, Old Dominion and FedEx Freight, these three carriers don't hesitate to buy good equipment to their drivers.

ReplyDeleteI'm absolutely pro union and I understand that people are venting long held frustration here. And I appreciate that. But I can't help but feel like calling a union vote because you're mad at your employer is absolutely the worst reason to do it. Unions are supposed to be about cooperation and shared goals, shared revenue and common ground. If you call for union representation to "stick it" to a company then they become a punishment or a negative consequence and that's not their function. Just saying. Lets try to highlight the positives of a union and not the negatives.

ReplyDeleteI never felt that a union was needed after the first year. After witnessing change after change, nothing has ever been consistant. I read the writing on the wall miles away. I swear the company compensates at a flat $ figure. Drivers have lost, lost, lost! I swear conway has some of the best shrinks around. Trying make me think this is exceptable behavior of an employer to keep the company around. I've learned one thing, I don't trust con-way anymore. I hate being screwed around. I hate dock workers coming in and taking over the dock. Our jobs are slipping away. What's next?! I'm ready to fight for my existence, because at the rate things are going, Ryder or Penski drivers could start taking over ours for fraction of cost, just like subservice cutting into linehaul.
