Everyone here at Conway has to understand what your YES vote means.
Your YES vote is only for a chance to see what the Teamsters could negotiate in a contract for us here at Conway. After, we and the union negotiators are done negotiating with Conway then we will be able to vote on that contract. If we like what we see and agree as a union to whatever is negotiated then we will vote YES, and if we don't like whats negotiated then we vote no. Make no mistake, the company is trying to distort the truth, make up lies about a strike and place fear in us by saying that they will bring in out of state drivers to replace us. We all know that the Teamsters just can't tell us to go on strike, we have to have a 2/3 majority vote to strike. WE vote on it!
Our management is also saying that they will do anything they can to stop this organizing drive, Well it's not up to them if we want the Teamsters to represent us, That is up to us! They fear losing the power they have to fire us for any reason, they fear losing the power to do what ever they want to us without recourse. The Teamsters will represent us to the fullest extent of their power.
This morning they had a meeting with us telling us that they are giving us a raise because of the minimum wage going up in different states! Thats all LIES! They are trying to bribe us with more money to sway our vote!
TO ALL MANAGEMENT that is reading this!
You really think that by bringing us food and bribing us with more pay is going to do away with all the abusive behavior that we have endured all these years??!! There is nothing you can do to stop this, but sure WE will eat your food, We will take more money but WE will never forget what got us to where we are today! THERE IS NOTHING you can do to stall any negotiations, there is nothing you can do to change our minds about voting YES! So Tom Clark your WASTING your time! They'll be waiting for you in California as well. YES CALIFORNIA!! WE ARE NOT ALONE IN THIS FIGHT!
TO ALL MY BROTHER CONWAY DRIVERS
Stay strong and DO NOT listen to what management is telling you! They are lying and trying to place fear in all of us, but WE KNOW BETTER!
WE WILL VOTE YES!!!
it's not tom clark's decision to negotiate with us,that's why there's a goverment agency call national labor relations board(NLRB)to arbitrate on contract negotiations.i bet conway will not like bad publicity from the media, religious groups and activists organizations
ReplyDeleteask conway management why penn yann express or conway eastern lay off or fire 186 employees out of 300. it wasn't the teamsters,it was conway's corporate hypocrites who didn't care about those employees and their families.
ReplyDeleteLaredo Texas please stand strong and vote yes.you are not alone..as for the pay raise we were told they were listening to the voice of the employees and we're going to look into it and possibly give us a better pay rate...but they won't know for 30 to 60 days..isn't that convenient it will be after the vote in Laredo..if the Union passes there will be a pay raise if the Union fails there will be no pay raise..any Conway employee including management thinks that Conway cares about them or their family is a fool...you are nothing but a number...that is why I would love to see the Union run like wildfire through this company...stand strong Laredo and strike the match...you have support in Virginia...

This post is correct if you look at the top it says Con-way Inc not con-way freight.I ask you who owns con-way freight.
DeleteNof is sick of no overtime till after 50 hours feel like 3rd class citizens. It's time to unionize
DeleteThe top management takes more money than they deserve.we pickup the freight and deliver the freight and they sit in offices thinking of more stupid ideas for us to do.let the top management take a pay cut and would be more than enough to pay for our insurance

DeleteAny Dsr Reading this blog must pass it on to other drivers so they are full aware of what's going on
ReplyDeleteHe makes 4 million a year and here In MIAMI FL WE GOT $.39 cent raise.. Almost 1 million in bonus we at MIAMI,FL $500 .. Not a BIG difference
ReplyDeleteMy bonus last year at NOF was 245.00 after taxes!!
ReplyDeleteDoug and Greg can buy a nice house or a nice boat or a nice car with their yearly bonus, what can we buy with ours?
ReplyDeleteIt's also interesting to note that any salaried worker who makes $200K or more a year is entitled to SRI which is supplemental retirement income or in plain speak, a pension, so although the pension went away it only went away for a select group.
ReplyDeleteNof and Ntp....they cant shut one down and use the other if its the same local for you guys. No one needs to wait...everyone needs to make it happen now at the same time from all over. This needs to get out to every one
ReplyDeleteHAD OUR LAST MEETING BEFOR THE ELACTION WENT REALLY GOOD WE WENT OVER THE NUM AND ITS 86 PERCENT STRONG ITS A WIN WIN FOR LLA I WANA SAY THANK EVERY ONE THAT MADE THIS HAPPEN AND BROTHERS AND SISTERS COMEING SEP 12 LLA IS GOING UNION

ReplyDeleteGOOD TO HEAR FOR THAT # 86 PERCENT... HOPE HERE IN FLORIDA WE GET GUTS TO STAND UNITED I'M FROM MIAMI FLORIDA WITH 18 YEARS OF SERVICE AND HAD NEVER SEEN THE DSR'S TREATED THE WAY WE ARE BEING TREATED NOW...ITS TIME FOR A CHANGE!!!! LET'S VOTE FOR UNION.. BETTER BENEFITS..

ReplyDeleteHEYY DRIVERS WHAT YOU WAITING WE ARE 4 DAY FOR THE VOTES , WE ARE GOING TO WIN , LETS GO FOR A BIG CHANGE, DONT BE FEAR , WE ARE HERE TO ENCOURANGE ALL THE TERMINAL, WE HAVE TO DO IT FOR OUR FUTURE, THIS FIGHT IS FOR ALL AND IS NOT OVER, WE HAVE TO FINISH WITH THIS MAFIA. GO LAREDO, GO LAREDO
DeleteCALIFORNIA just joined the fight!! Thanks to all management for pushing us and giving us the courage to go union.. now save the money you guys are going to waste on the union blisters and use it for the good of the workers and company. There is no going back!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think it’s time we joined the union in Orlando, Fl (NOF). The company has taken enough away from us. We have very bad medical coverage and it is expensive. We have no more pension plan. And these wonderful raises we have been given in the last 2.5 years are really bad. They treat us like dirt, they think we are slaves and they think we will stand by and let this happen. They also think we are stupid. Ask them why in NJ they get $26.10 an hour .60 a mile and OT after 8 hours! We get $22.93 an hour .54 a mile, and only OT after 50 hours. Where is this fair? We all work hard for this company. I thought it was equal pay for equal work. We should all be making the same amount of money. There is a letter going around from our CEO saying they made a mistake. No they did not, they thought they could get away with treating us like this.
ReplyDeleteIf you join the Teamsters you will get the best medical in the country and it is FREE. Does not cost us anything. You will get a great pension that does not cost us anything; you will get fair raises across the board. No more 2% for Florida and 8% up north. For a better way of life join the Union. Tell Mr. CEO, “Wake up and smell the coffee.” We don’t want to hear how proud you are of us, just pay us a fair wage.
I think all the Conway employees in all of Florida should look into the Union. Go Laredo, I hope you vote the Union in. This is just the beginning. Do not let them tell you if you join the Union they will close the company down, that won’t happen. Do not let them scare you. This used to be a good job, but not anymore.
WE ALL NEED TO GET TOGETHER ON THIS FLORIDA FROM TALLAHASSEE TO MIAMI WE NEED THE UNION..
ReplyDeletecome on brothers we at nro ,nwn ,nrm, nwr are ready to go . let's start signing so we can get the show on the road and show conway how it should be .
ReplyDeleteStay strong Loredo. Good luck from your future international brotherhood of Teamsters.
ReplyDeleteBrothers NMF (Auschwitz)
Xcw talking watchiing and waiting bros. Till the time is right,
ReplyDeleteMost of the X terminals get screwed out of something every year. LLA got em scared they are trying to butter up XDE after the spat on all the other Michigan barns. Why do we need A union? So we have recourse when they make up policy on the fly, our livelihood with temps and sub services and make the drivers pay the price for incompetent managers. We need the same pay scale at least by region not by city and bring back 85/15
