First casualty today
We had our first casualty of the GPS tracking today. He was tracked driving to Fredrickstown, Ohio from XCO. He was tracked on the way back. Its 54 miles from the terminal. Got popped for taking 23 minutes longer to get back. He was terminated today.
conway's favorate fabricated company policy accused any employee of stealing time, thats conway for you, all you driver who are afraid to organize and do not think we need a union, who is next ? we're loosing our job one at a time, afraid conway will close if we get organize, well conway close the door to 20-30 employee's at the fontana(usb) terminal last month(they got fired) WAKE UP.
ReplyDeletewhat Conway drivers are not allow bathroom break? equipment check or just traffic jam. Or just might notice equipment faliure and try to correct it, before an injury or death might occur?
ReplyDeleteThis is the way this Banana washer manager of Conway thank him?
i forgot, after conway fired you.conway will denied you unemployment benefit's. that's how conway care's about you and your family ...
ReplyDeleteAnybody knows this driver? Please pass this number to him, here is a great lawyer, call him. His number is 1-530-574-1130 His name is James Ashworth
ReplyDeleteA driver from (ulx) also lost his job that way but he also was being tracked thru GPS and was 10 mins out of Route that "dictator of a manager" followed him and fired him after 18 years of service.wake up drivers time for Respect! Protection! and No More Bull from your Managers.
ReplyDeletethis driver and the supervisor had not been getting along. The supervisor has been making comments about how long it is taking to make deliveries. Nothing explicit, just asking why its taking so long. He came back the other night and was taken into the terminal managers office and told about the infraction. He was suspended. He had his conference today and was terminated. He is the first person to be terminated using the handheld. He had not been disciplined for stealing time before this. All it took was one time and he was done. They did tell him he could appeal it to the termination board, Nobody likes or trusts anyone in HR all the way to the top.My intention was to post what I thought was a misjustice that happened to a friend and fellow coworker. Something that could and will happen again to someone who crosses management. We feel there is no recourse for us here.we need to organize!
ReplyDeleteNo progressive dicipline at Conway? One strike and you're out? Funny how they figure "stealing time" is a cardinal sin. Most managers piss away far more time in a day than a driver ever dreamed of. These types of managers will lie, cheat, and steal every day when it comes to their numbers. This type of theft is condoned by management and a means of acquiring bonuses and ascending the corporate ladder. So I ask you Conway managers, who is the real thief?
ReplyDeleteHey brothers, right on top of this website, is a click to the N.L.R.B

ReplyDeleteLook at 222 lifer comment, their contract, their specification on tracking device...
whould you expect less from conway, stay tuned more to follow, conway braggs about never laying off they just fire you,so they keep up there reputation for no layoffs,
ReplyDeleteThere is such a thing as traffic.... Damn jerks at conway will use any excuse to fire someone they don't like or someone that's getting too close to retirement. Sometimes it takes me 23 minutes to go 2 miles in traffic. If and when management questions me about it I can tell them to leave me the hell alone and say there was traffic. Got to love the union ;)
ReplyDeleteYou are correct when you say they never layoff 'okie" They Suspend then Fire you and the best part they Deny your Unemployment benifits..I guess thats the difference between Layoff and being Fired.
ReplyDeleteWe all know how this would play out working under a union contract. I try to explain this to the non union guys and the just don't get it. They go into the defend the company and how that is what the man deserves. Funny how that is how they react until the shoe is on their foot.
ReplyDeleteI feel sorry for these people as they get older and not as fast as the up and coming know it all's.
its sad to know that CONWAY was a great company . it has taken a dive year after year. from FAC terminal class 1 down to, hmm, oh yeah, PAUL STYERS era. guys!!!!!!! wake up and protect your families, yourselves from unjustifiable treatment. one day you`re here the next you`re gone. UNION GIVES YOU THAT PROTECTION.
